More L4D from PAX

PAX 2008 is now over, bringing us three more articles and two HD videos of Left 4 Dead. Freelance videogame word typer Mitchell Dyer wrote about his experience over at nukoda.com, saying the following:

Left 4 Dead was the best demo on the show floor at PAX, because it’s easily the best multiplayer I’ve ever experienced. The emotional connection between myself and three total strangers was strong enough to have each other belt out orders of the utmost importance without feeling like we had a “captain,” and with a fully realized ambiance, the game is horrifyingly freaky from start to finish.

GameTrailers has posted two videos showing the start of the No Mercy campaign. The first video shows that players get a red outline after being puked on by the Boomer so their teammates can react accordingly. The second video shows what looks like much improved Smoker tongue pull animation along with the ability for teammates to heal one another with medkits by using the left trigger instead of the right. The end of chapter scoreboard screen is seen below, looking pretty sharp.

Joystiq posted their hands-on impressions:

It was intense, exciting and fun. Zombies were killed and laughs were had. This is what all co-op experiences should be, working together rather than being in the same game. Left 4 Dead is hitting this November and we’re already working on our Zombie Apocalypse Plan in preparation.

Finally, Sarah over at Gamervision posted about her first time laying hands on the game:

As it was my first time playing the game, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I don’t know why I ever had any doubts about the awesomeness of this game, because I was still thinking about it long after we left the demonstration area..

..Honestly, I feel like this could be the first multiplayer shooter I obsess over since Halo.

Left 4 Dead continues to impress and November is only a couple months away.
