I come home today expecting to settle down to a nice evening of gaming. I pressed the power button and heard my fans turn on, but there was no image on my monitor. It turns out my power supply surged. My entire rig is fried, except for my HD and cd drives. My ENTIRE FUCKING RIG. So I'm unable to play anything until basically the summer, unless I can get enough money from my gigs.
At least I'm going to get a much better rig.

dont go to circuit city. Their new policy is, you buy it, it's yours. You cant return it. I have heard of people who bought a fifteen hundred dollar plasma screen, usually like three grand, they get it home, open it up, and the screen is crushed completely. My advice, try building your own rig, check PC gamers hard stuff section for all the rig, video card, power supply, ect, stuff you need

WOW, did you have the comp hooked up to a surge protector?
might want to throw an APC surge protector onto the list of things to buy!
bummer, the closest I got to this was pushing the overclock WAY TO FAR on my opteron 165 ya 1.65 volts...and Poof hard drive errors couldn't get into windows and finally vista was corrupted game over FORMAT!
GL with the new build, I also suggest external harddrive or small internal hard drive with a fully functional windows on it with your game, has saved my ass more than once :)
