Is it possible to play the 360 version online with two people from the same Xbox on Live?

I've seen a million players like: Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, Player (3) and I'm just wondering if that (3) is a second person from the original Player 3's house playing split-screen online with them?

Yes, it is possible.
You and one other person can play split screen with either another person and his guest, or two individual people.

Aye, otherwise split-screen would be pretty pointless.
Unless you could have 4 people on one 360.

I still don't understand how you could have FOUR survivors and FOUR special infected to play as, and yet, Left 4 Dead only allows TWO player split screen?????

Technical reasons mainly.

Technical reasons mainly.

Also splitting the screen in half is bad enough when trying to make out a smoker's location etc, nevermind 4.

yea, unless you're playing on a screen the size of a wall, it's hard to see what's going on in your little 1/4 of the screen.

I play splitscreen 99% of the time. When I see L4D not splitscreened it looks HD. But yeah if it was 4 player split it would be way too small.

If you use two gamertags (with gold) on the same system you can both use your mics. One of the biggest drawbacks to splitscreeners (besides the handicap of being on splitscreen) is one ends up with no mic if you only use one profile.

Yea, and I only ever play L4D when I play splitscreen.

I have a pretty big TV and its still a lot more difficult to play splitscreen. But when i first started playing, I only played splitscreen..and I think it actually made it easier to play full screen now 0.o. Anyone else experience this?

Every screen you add makes it harder for the xbox to render. You are rendering the same zombie (in this case zombies) four times instead of only one time. That's a boatload of work.

Yeah, Splitscreen has much more lag than Fullscreen. Pretty annoying after you get used to playing Left 4 Dead all alone :(
