Help with Steam Games

Ever since last week I have been getting into games slower, downloading stuff from the servers slower. When I would get in it would lag so bad. I would get horrible ping and the game would like do that connection interrupted freeze (didnt say CI at the top though) and then unfreeze for 1 second and continues on. I dont know if its a program related thing or just my internet, something blocked it or what. So if anyone knows please tell me or try to help! Thanks.

uhh backround progams virus maybe out-of-date drivers look at steampowered.com support they have most answers I used.

It could be a billion things. Check for spyware. Do a defrag or get Norton or something. They got those neat programs that remove broken registry errors and stuff like that. It's certainly not your internet or Steam because they were working fine before. *Oh do you have wireless internet?

No I do not. It never happened before but I did do some scans like Spybot and Ad-Aware. They found some stuff and I removed it. I will try what you guys suggested.
