Hello,

I'm an avid PC Gamer and a fan of source games. I've yet to buy L4D and was wondering how does it compare to Hidden Source Mod as that game is pretty cool and I see alot of similarities between the two.

Currently playing counterstrike source and day of defeat source on the PC.

do you like shooting zombies with guns, cooperatively? well then.

honestly, go read about it. watch some youtube videos. it's not even remotely similar to the games you listed (minus the hidden, haven't played), nor any other game really.

On order? Why, no real advantage to owning the CD.

Yea, I just turned it into "one of those threads"

he's right, really. you'd be better off just downloading it through steam.

and there's definitely a rush in the game. actually, most of what happens in the game could be described as a rush, as opposed to being scary or something. it's fast paced, action packed, adrenaline pumping, etc.. some people wet their beds over the tank though, understandably.

First time you encounter a tank is probably one of the biggest rushes you get...

First time you manage to kill a tank on Expert one of the next

First time you complete all campaigns on Expert also up there....

First time you really get it sorted with a decent team on Vs also very good...

The list goes on ........

If you're account gets hacked 5 years in the future MUCH easier to recover if you have a handful of CD and CD cases, instead of trying to find that card which you cut up when it ran out of it's expiry.

Plus installs faster. :D

i like to have the CD instead of the download as its the same money and if my pc goes pete tong i can install a little quicker with the cd no 3 day download waiting.

plus i get a physical manual ( old skool)

my steam account is bulging already so i might even make a new steam account for l4d. dunno yet.

xbox fanboy above el doyne has nagged me to purchase game.

yeah whatever you do red make sure your first run through a campaign is with friends or at least other players. It realy adds somthing, especialy as you probably have no clue where to go or how everything works. Everyones first run is always one of the best...
