soo I was playing the other day with a friend of mine and we were all taking turns going for the Cr0wned achievement. The first two times my friend startled her by accident and ruined it. But the third time I went up behind her, and killed her, one shot. Or so I thought. No achievement popped up, and when the round was over, it showed that my friend had somehow done some damage to the witch. She claims that she didnt shoot at all, and I really dont remember anyone shooting at her. So I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone, or if it is possible to somehow do damage to the witch without startling her (as stupid as that question sounds =P)

If you want it that bad, go look up a tutorial, its so easy.
Yes, your friend probably shot her accidentally. The game stats don't lie.

Well I didn't get the achievement yet because I got the game a month ago...so...ya know..I guess I should have gotten it before I played it...

I got it the second day the game came out, walked around a corner and BAM there she was 3 feet in front of me, she turned around screamed, and I shot her in the face with an the auto shotty, got the crowned achievement and the one that you get for not letting the witch do any damage.

yeah i got the one for no damage when I tried to cr0wn her. it was just weird because my friend swears she didn't shoot and i dont remember her shooting so i didnt know if it was a glitch or something. I havent played in like a week, but I definately need to try again. Do you think its better to try with bots?

Cr0wned is much easier if you don't think about it too much.
I tried planning it out and strategizing many times. Epic fail.
Just get right next to her (in front or behind her, doesn't matter). She'll start freaking and start to stand up, get yourself an auto-shotty, aim somewhere in the area of her head, and she's done.

Actually, it's better if you have a shotgun and get as much of her body and head in the crosshairs as you can.

I've already got the achievement, but I was trying to help out a friend to get it..

Of course the witch was facing us rather than having her back to us. My friend (who's only had the game maybe a week) thought that he would be safe enough to run past her in order to get to her back.. He started to run and jumped over her, she started to get pissed, and I knew that it was going to end up poorly. I knew he wasn't going to get the crown, so I ran up and tried to cr0wn her from the front with my Sniper Rifle without any set up or prep for the shot.. On no mercy 4, my friend decided to cr0wn a witch using a rifle. He hit her and she ran, he walked backwards off the hospital JUST as she hit him in the face and sent him flying. Of course the only reasonable thing to say to him was FALCON PUNCH over the mic.

A good place to practice this is dev. comentary in the extras in NM3 their is a witch and she will completely ignore you

On the commentary, the tanks or witches won't come after you, only the bots.
It's actually somewhat amusing to keep replaying the clip so the tank will kill all the bots.

If you're standing within centimeters of her, an auto shotgun will take her out in one shot, whether you're aiming for her head or her body. But you literally need to be right next to her. She won't freak out right away, so you've got a few seconds time to pull it off.

as far as im concerned, only the hunting rifle headshot does anything different to the witch.

I always crouch with a pump or auto shotty in front or behind her, or whichever side of her is closest to me, wait till she gets up, aim straight for her chest/stomach, and win.

I very rarely miss a crown, not trying to be macho here but its not at all difficult. When i play with pubs they always say in the mic to sneak around her or everyone shoot her at the same time. I say, OR i could do it for you and pwn her face in.

It's been my experience that this is only true on easy through advanced (body shot). On Expert, I've found that it is easier to pwn her from the front. Strange, but true. Wait until she shakes her head while right in front of her, aim for her throat (maybe a bit above that), and pull the trigger.

To the OP, you'll be way more happy getting the acheivement in-game than in a LAN/friends-going-for-it game. The key is patience. Don't think "I'm fucking hosed if I don't get this right," think more of a calm "That's right... Stand up..."

Yes, you're absolutely right. I was just advising anyone who hadn't gotten the achievement yet. Odds are, most people here probably won't try for Cr0wned on Expert, lol. But godspeed if they do!

i got CrOwned on Expert. It's not that different... Just make sure you're RIGHT next to her, or you, my friend, are hosed.

I got mine by dropping through the hole in nm3, landing right next to her, music started and while I was getting chewed on by a bunch of infected I open fired with the autoshotty as she was getting up and blew her head off :D Completely by accident mind you.

On normal and easy body shots work great. On Advanced, you need to get most of the pellets into her head, and on Expert if you don't get nearly all of the pellets into your head, it just pisses her off.
Funny bit of trivia, I heard that on Easy mode, body shots do double the damage of headshots.
