'Memory' I'm guessing here means RAM (random access memory). It stores volatile information (stuff that doesnt get saved permanently but only temporarily) and a higher ammount is needed for most games. Most pc's these days have 2 - 4k ram memory onboard.

If your pc is new, check how much it was bought with. If its any more than 248mb it might mean that the hardware has stopped working for some reason. Or maybe you just have an office related pc that don't need that much RAM... or you were fobbed off by the seller.

Either way RAM is dead easy to replace (clip it in) and also very cheap!

sure it wasnt 2048mb? that's a common amount of ram.

just right-click on the taskbar (bar along the bottom of windows desktop) and select Task Manager, then in the program select "performance" tab and the line you're looking for is "physical memory".

or just use cpuid http://www.cpuid.com/

Good point. May be you've got a good ammount of RAM there.

Also, by memory are you referring to RAM or hard drive storage space. It is a common mistake to refer to storage as memory... Especially since you don't really "run out" of RAM.

But indeed, make sure you correctly read your value.

Fucking sucks too, and he isn't being nice, he's just quieter. Never say that he is nice! He was born eating nails for breakfast, tacks for snacks.

Well to be honest, I have been on here less as well as being nicer.
Besides I think I owe it to the forum.

Shit, first Infest, now Funky, I'll be sad if every troll leaves on the job. I'm shit at trolling. Someone better pick up the Goddamn slack.

You never used to troll, but you are now filling in.
I don't really wanna go back to the way I was, but even the best of us are prone to troll if the mood and scene is right (IE my Pics thread). As long as it is in good taste I might show a bit of edgy humor, besides, I garuntee the lack of trolls now will end up with an overabundance later, in other words troll-diffusion through the internets or Troll Phugiod.

Nah, I never trolled before, maybe not even now, I'm just an asshole. What sucks is that I've been getting more and more of my posts deleted, and I liked them....

Yea that kinda why I stopped too.
If you have bad rep, then some of your posts that wouldn't of been deleted, get deleted just because of your rep, and that made me feel like what I was doing was wrong, which it kinda was.

Well, maybe you stopped at a good time. Legacies are born from people who left at the right time, or the ones that were exiled in a blaze of glory. Either are just as great, and I think you did the right thing, leaving the scene before you burn out. Kon did the latter... lol

Fuck, derailed.

+1 and you can get some better brand ram instead of budget ram, ocz, geil corsair etc...do some research find out your ram speed i.e. ddr 400 ddr2-800 ddr2-1066 etc. sounds confusing but some comp building guides on the net and a little time and you'll have it.
