I haven't seen it, IGN loads REALLY slow for me. Pretty lame subtitle if you ask me. Okay, a couple seconds in. WOOT Predator Spacecraft!!!!... On Eath, crap.

Fuck the effects are awesome, did they use props for the Facehuggers in the first AvP? Because these ones look CGI.

One guy gets his face melted after a Predator Plasma launches an Alien about to buttrape him. It looks like there's no more 4 foot long claw blades, I liked those about the AvP adaptation, same with the heavy armor. But oh well, I just hope there's like 1-3 Predators that REALLY put up a fight this time, which it looks like they will. Also, MARINES!!!

Also also, one chick totally gets raped by the Shuriken, straight into the freakin' wall. It looks like the building got infested by Zerg... err, Aliens. PREDATORS GET THE WHIP NOW, HOLY CRAP HE DICES THE FREAKIN' ALIEN JUST LIKE THAT!!!

Alien outbreak!!! And there's ATLEAST one Predator that holds his own, in the sewer, totally chokes two Aliens. One dies though :( Poor Preds. Looks like the Predator kidnaps some guy, but thats unlikely unless it needs help.

On Pred gets two shoulder cannons and headshots two noobs, AWESOME. It looks like the main human character nabs a plasma cannon off a Predator or something, and pwnz0red the Hybrid.

Wow that looks really sweet, I like how they didn't discrimanate with who dies. A kid gets alien faced, girl gets shruikened. Also they didn't hold back on the violence like the face melt or all the hanging fleshless body and all that.

Yeah, an AvP3 is what I need right now. With the technology today, they could totally remake the first Predator movie and do it justice. Destructible foliage ftw.

Further inspection of the trailer indicates that the Hybrid totally gets Predator clawed right up the face but still kills the Pred.

AWESOME.

There are a lot of different Aliens in this one, atleast it looks that way. Drones, Hybrids, the Queen probably... I think I saw Praetorian, but it could just be a big drone. I love when the guy in the Kevlar gets wtfpwned.

Also, if I was in the military I'd nuke that place to shit, they're probably all over the sewers by then.

Definately a Praetorian. At 1:38 you see a Predator slamming his wrist blade through it's head (uppercut!), and at 1:43 there's a super quick shot of one about to munch some poor waitresses face. Then at 1:54, a "Pred-alien" (as they've also been called), starts whipping ass which it's retractable jaw. You can tell it's a Praetorian, it shares the Predator's unique jawline.

I was super-psyched for the original AvP - I was prepared for a crossover that would allow me to die happy. I left disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie, but too PG to do the franchises justice.

... but THIS ... this looks like the one I've been waiting for. Can't wait!

A Praetorian is not a Pred-Alien/Hybrid. It is like the Queens royal guard, the Praetorian also appears very similar to a Queen, but no where near as big . They are also pretty much a "Pre-Queen", a drone molts into a Praetorian, then later, the Praetorian will molt and become a Queen. That is, if there currently isn't a Queen for the hive. Heres a bit taken from wikipedia.

"A royal elite guard to the Queen. Praetorians are larger than typical adults, but still only about half the size of the queen herself. Praetorians appear in the graphic novel series (and the Millennium/Orion books based on the same), such as Rogue and Female War (originally serialised as Earth War). They are also a playable class in the computer game Aliens versus Predator 2, in which they cannot "wall-crawl" like the smaller aliens, but have a very thick bullet-resistant exoskeleton and a very high crouch jump. In the game, a background report on their biology reveals them to be a final phase for many drones in Aliens versus Predator 2, or alternatively a young queen in Aliens versus Predator: Extinction.

The praetorians have been noted to possess a second pair of limbs protruding from the torso, much the same as a Queen. In the video game Aliens versus Predator: Extinction, they are hatched from "Praetorian Eggs" and can later molt to become a queen if the current queen is killed. However, in Aliens versus Predator 2 they are described as being born differently. According to AvP 2, a Praetorian is a full grown drone (or other 3rd stage xenomorph) that grows old and begins to emit different pheromones that cause the hive to react violently towards it. By doing that, every praetorian that becomes a queen is a normal organism and not a hybrid. (If the queen were to become a hybrid, all the new born huggers would also become hybrids as soon as they are born. Quite similar to the Human-Xenomorph hybrid seen in Alien: Resurrection, but in that case the alien queen was removed from Ripley's clone with part of her human DNA.

Another theory is that the Praetorians are male Aliens that fertilize the queen."

Well, it looks like the Predators in this one aren't "Greenhorns" like in the first one. I think half the reason they were so weak and got pwned by aliens like that was because they were young Predators who hadn't even earned their shouldercannons yet. Anywho - looks like it will be MUCH MUCH better than the first one, but I'm still dissapointed.

The first predator film was absolutely awesome! Why bother with totally over the top CGI effects when the film was already amazing? It is by far the best of the predator films, and although this one looks better than AVP, I cannot see it being better than the original arnie vs predator film.

Yeah, the film was bearable just for the creatures and the first time of seeing Aliens and Predators going head to head. The story and characters are what let it down.

When the `In space no-one can hear you scream` then `on earth..........` bit came up I thought they were going to use the `on earth everybody can hear you scream` tag line which I heard was going to be used if Alien 5 ever got made.

Does anyone else watch 24? The "Ripley" chick is the woman who played Michelle Dessler in season 5 & 6. She's actually a very capable actress. The rest of the cast from the trailer, however, I have no idea who they are.

I watched it pretty carefully (pause, play, pause, play in certain parts), and though I may confuse Praetorians and Pred/Alien hybrids on paper, I'm pretty sure I only saw drones and a few hybrids (with the distinct Predator-esque jawline). No indication of a Queen either ... it almost looks as if the Predators bring their own facehuggers to get the party started.

Though I could be wrong (again). =)

Because these films took the Story of Alien and Predator and destroyed them. Aliens on earth since the begging of time, Predators using earth as a proving ground. They make Aliens the "greatest prey" which destroyes the story of the first Predator where Human beings were supposed to be the "greatest prey" The comics were great, and the games were VERY VERY great. I loved playing as a Colonial Marine with my pretty pulse rifle and the little motion sensor radar.

I'm just ranting - but yeah, although it looks better than the first I won't be excited till I see a dropship and some helmet cams.

I don't see how we could possibly be a greater prey then Xenomorphs, wasnt there a head of a Xenomorph in the Predator ship in the second movie. Besides that, Im pretty sure since the Predator didnt tell people so, man isnt the greatest prey. All I remember is the chick tells the squad that this shit happens in the hottest seasons.

As for Colonial marines, its ALIENS VS. PREDATOR. Besides, it was only fun to play Marines in AvP 2 vs. Aliens in my opinion.

I watched the trailer again earlier and one thing occured to me.

Why would the Predator kill that girl fleeing? The one that gets pinned to the wall.

A predator will only attack an enemy it considers a worthy opponent or a threat.
Proven twice in Predator 2 ( once with the pregnant woman on the tube, and again with the kid in the cemetary ), and a known part of the Predator mythos anyway.

I think AvP2 will rock! Cant wait for the massacre. Only thing that bothers me is the fact that there are ALIENS (xenomorph´s) on the EARTH. The biggest concern of people from the original Alien movies was that those Xenomorph could reach the earth. And now they are there and mankind still exists? Hmmmmmmmm...

Probably because the Preds are culling them and keeping numbers down!
It would only be a problem I think if a Queen got to Earth, drones cant create eggs and therefore no facehuggers, therefore no more drones, therfore no extinction of mankind.
You can only get one drone per host, so you need a facehugger for each person on the planet, and I doubt the predators bought that many with them!

The whole premise of the movie is that a predalien fucks up the Predator ship and it crashes in earth, as far as we know only two facehuggers make it out. It's kind of stupid to make a movie on, okay, aliens invade, mankind is dead, movie starts... wtf?

Going by the original Dark Horse Alien V Predator story ( and the one they should have used for the first film ) the Predators normally leave eggs on the planet and wait for the facehuggers to do their stuff, then they go down and hunt the aliens.

Also, Darkhorse adopted a few ideas from David Bishop who wrote a few non-canon books that eventually became recognized as "laws" that the Predators have. They actually keep a full grown queen on board yet have her bound, and in a position where it is not possible for her to create an eggsack and lay eggs. I'm not sure how to describe it but basically it is a massive reinforced room constantly guarded by Predators. They only capture the Queen Alien and move her to another planet OR simply have her breed on the ship in which case they capture the facehuggers (Or in another book they simply take the eggs) and send them on a dropship to the planet. Within a few hours or days, depending on the scenario and species (Which compensates for growth time), they then go down and hunt. They are never clear on what they do with the queen afterwords, but one can assume they can keep her bound since it only takes six to eight predators to physically restrain her when she is loose, or they send her back to the "home" alien planet she came from since it's been confirmed the aliens are on multiple planets.

I rethought the thing about men beeing the "greatest prey" for predators. I dont think they are since Aliens (Xenomorph) are obviously bigger, stronger, faster and all in all more dangerous and challenging than humans. But the reason why those Aliens are so advanced could be, that they assimilate human DNA into their own, like they seemingly do with every creature they infest (like the Predalien has Alien DNA + Predator DNA).
So we COULD say that Aliens are the greatest prey if they are made out of ALIEN DNA + Human DNA.
(I would love to see some crazy combinations like Alien + Cangaroo, or Alien + Dolphin) :D

Well, there is an Alien DNA + Dog DNA. Known as "The Runner" in the games, and in the alien movies, it's the one in Alien 3. It's faster, but less durable or something like that. Looks a bit different too, it's more brownish, and it doesn't look quite as strong but more agile.
