Something occured to me the other day when watching Zombie Diaries, and I dont know why I didnt think of this before, but...
In L4D when you get attacked I`m assuming you get bitten, cut etc. Especially when the hunter lands on you. How come the survivor doesnt turn? If they are infected like 28 Days then the victim would turn in a matter of seconds, especially when the Boomer pukes on them.

Then I thought about it a bit more - I seem to recall something about the survivors been immune to the infection.

Is this right or have I got it completely wrong?

I think it would be quite cool to have a countdown timer on players if they get bitten. Once it reaches zero you turn and become an infected unless you can get to a safe house where a handy , err, cure is found.

They are immune to the virus.

The virus makes those that are infected overcome with rage, so they scratch, punch, kick and stomp etc etc.

Not sure about biting, but as the 4 survivors are immune, you would think it wouldnt matter anyway.

Yeah, as you said the four playable survivors are immune for whatever reason, as for the helicopter pilots, I'm not sure. Maybe they are just rescue workers from a country or area which hasn't been affected, sent to rescue the immune survivors so an antidote can be developed faster by using their antibodies as a reference point. Perhaps making it possible to capture important people who are infected and cure them.

Wouldn't it be twisted if a boomer could vomit on a pilot, thus infecting him/her, so the other pilot is attacked and the helo crashes. muahaha.

Or they're good guys and just wanna help...

In Jericho the Chinese drop nukes on America, later they send choppers/supplies to help em out.

I get the impression that the survivors are immune to the virus then.
Thanks Prometheus and Tarron, I almost missed that.
Err, hang on - better not feed the trolls. :P

Watch them make an L4D two and steal the idea from 28 Weeks Later where the survivors carry the virus... Hahaha.

could always just be like the whole hero complex type thing. Though in game they might die or take damage, if put into a novel or movie they might have avoided all that. Not sure if I explained that clearly enough.
