New XBOX harddrive...

So I'm planning on getting a new (larger) HDD for my 'box (because I filled my 10 GB with Rock Band songs) so that I have room to get the L4D DLC... whenever it comes out.

I'm just wondering how much of a hassle it is to transfer my account info and old DLC to a new HDD. My box RRoD'd a few months ago and I had to go through this whole annoying process online when I got a new system (same HDD tho) and I'm just wondering if I need to go through the same annoying process?

Anyone got a new HDD before?

i think its just a process of recovering your account to that hard drive like you would any other. as for DLC i think that you can redownload any content you bought on your old one so you just have to re download em all

the 120 HDD comes with a transfer cable, you plug that in and put the cd in and it transfers it all for you ... simple as that, but follow the instructions or you could screw it up

You can move your gamertag to a new hardrive and redownload it. However I think if you put your gamertag on say a friends hardrive and hes connected to live you cant download the content because then he could get it too by selecting from your download history, this was an exploit people used alot to get more games but microsoft patched it i think

Your account is attached to your box, not the HD. You will use the included cable once. It will transfer everything to the new drive.

Your old HD will become trash. Possibly, you can sell it to someone used, but it will be useless to you. March of tech and all.
