Wha..? Not even on low quality?
But what is that graphic card equilavent to?

Not even on low quality that is an integrated graphics card.
It is equivalent to if you put in a Hamster Wheel taped to a credit card.

I would recommend a low profile nvidia 8200 it would fit in your laptop.

Oh didn't see that thought it said 8 at first no it won't run good buy some more ram for it at least 4 gigs.

then..how about this laptop?

No! Don't get more RAM. That RAM is for the video card, which is actually quite good. The RAM you're thinking of this laptop can hold up to 8GB, and it already has 4GB I think (kind of hard to read). The only thing you might want to change if you want to run it well is the card, as a rule you want upwards of a 600 with nVidia. For Example 7600 and up, 8600 and up, 9600 and up etc.

You can upgade laptop's graphic card? I didnt know that..anyways, how about the laptop i mentioned in my post above?

Nuttz
03-22-2009, 12:54 AM
That one's fairly good, I,m not too good with Ati cards so I can't help with that, but you'd want to get at least another gig of RAM, I'll go check that card now.

Edit: I just checked on that card. It's pretty cheap so I would expect that it's not very good, I'd go with the second one.

nickz168
03-22-2009, 01:15 AM
OK..then what about this..?

the one of the left.

Nuttz
03-22-2009, 01:18 AM
Better than the second one, but again the Graphics card might let you down, but that's only if you want to play alot of games on high.

nickz168
03-22-2009, 01:19 AM
So that means i will be able to play it on about medium settings?

Nuttz
03-22-2009, 01:21 AM
Probably, but I'm not too sure with laptops. I know you'll at least be able to play it though.

Yeah, laptop's on the low end aren't great for gaming. My personal choice would be the $999 USD (3,638.85 RM) Apple Macbook which has an Nvidia 9400M chipset. You'd probably be able to get by with Medium settings on that machine (especially if you upgrade it to 4 GB of RAM). But definitely not on High settings. You'd need to spend over 1500 USD (5,463.74 RM) on a Laptop to achieve that.

I tried building a laptop for gaming. It was a semi-high end nvidia card at the time. Except it was the laptop version of the card (GO version...). If you have the money, Id suggest just getting a desktop for gaming and a very low end and light laptop that can just word process, surf net, etc for work purposes.

Because:

1: desktop parts are far cheaper in comparison
2: desktop parts are far better in comparison
3: my gaming laptop couldnt do shadows for the life of it. Could play l4d on medium-high settings, but would crash on dead air maps and the 2nd campaign map set which is escaping my mind at the moment. Dunno why, had the latest drivers and everything. It just wouldnt do it. It would also do funky things with the shadows in mount&blade and would also crash on 2fort in tf2. Only 2fort, not a single other map it had a problem with. Got my desktop for half the cost of the gaming laptop and it is top of the line almost.

Yeah, I only suggest a laptop for gaming if you need a new computer and it has to be a laptop for work related reasons. Mine is a Macbook Pro since I needed a Mac for video editing and it doubles as a gaming laptop (can run L4D with all settings on High/Very High). But it is costly.

Everything looks fine here man, you should get it running nice on medium settings. Welcome to the forum btw!

I hate to be stealing someone else's thread to ask a question, but I really didn't see a point to create a whole new one since people seem to be answering the questions here...

What do you guys think of this graphics card? I'm going to be setting up my own build soon, just gathering the parts on a wish list right now:

--NOTE-- I plan on purchasing two (2) of these and pull an SLI system, so really it's 2GB and 256-bit GDDR2...

Depends on what you want to do, if you plan to do video editing and or photoshop, then 1 GB would be good for video editing, but if you want more gaming power, then get a 9800GTX+, and SLI that later

If you insist on getting a laptop capable of gaming I perdonally wouldn't settle for anything less than a 9800m series video in it. I don't know much about the newer gen mobile video options though. I think there's a mobile radeon 4850 out now that would work quite well.

If you watch and are patient you can get a decent gaming laptop for under $1300. Asus used to make a couple models in the "budget" area.

For laptops, a 8600m GT and above or a 9500m GT and above would be enough to play on Medium / High Settings at a low resolution, as for ATI, a 3650 Mobility or above, or a 4650 Mobility or above, a single 9800m GTX / 8800m GTX or a Mobility 3870 / Mobility 4850 should be able to push the game to the max. at 1920x1200 (without AA) with a playable framerate (30-40 FPS).

Anything lower than that should be enough (unless it is integrated, such as the 9400m GT or the Mobility HD 3200, for which you would have to play at around 800x600 resolution with Low Settings, Medium if you are lucky) to play on Low / Medium settings at a low resolution.

I have two 8800m GTX's and I can get a steady framerate higher than 60 FPS most of the time, paired with a Quad Core (Desktop, not Mobile) processor that is, Max. Settings, 1920x1200 Resolution, Film Grain @ Optimal, 4xAA, 8xAF.

That Intel 4500 should be fine.

Although it's quite slow, Left 4 Dead is very playable on my laptop.

2 GHz Pentium M, 64 Meg Radeon Mobility x300. It fails system requirements, but still runs.

Most settings low, Medium textures, 800x600.

A very, very small handful of laptops have upgradable video cards but neither the Dell Inspiron 15 nor the HP Pavilion dv4-1100 are one of them. ...not sure why Obama Yo Momma even bothered suggesting such misinformation.
