Well, just another game I can add to the list of 'Unplayable on my hunk of shit'.

I'm just hoping that I can still play L4D. I'm still on Win2000, I can play DoD and CS Source so I should be able to play L4D right? ............ right? ................. oh please say yes!

You need Vista to run anything with DX10. Doesn't matter if you have a pair of SLI'd 8800GTX, you still need Vista to enable the DX10 effects. Glory be to Microsoft.

Obviously. Crysis features, but doesnt rely on DX10 exclusive... well, features. DX9 will be as good but DX10 will be GODLIKE!!!

And wow, I posted this ages ago. Not in its own topic though.

It's definately a download for me.

let it be known unequivocally, you DO NOT NEED DX10 or VISTA to run CRYSIS. You also don't exactly need a top of the line everything machine to run it. It is supposed to be very scalable.

True, and on the same token ...

Let it been known that, unequivocally, regardless of your vid card, you NEED VISTA to run DX10. Also, shout it to the mountains, the vast majority of DX10 games also support DX9 (Crysis included).

So yeah.

I don't think so, it'll be visually stunning to the point where I go to an island, look at the jungle and say "Why can't it be like in Crysis"

But aside from that I won't play it much. The MP might be interesting, and it'd be awesome with co-op (but there is none last I heard) and graphics of course, then I'll probably stop playing it and pull it out every so often and say, "GUYS LOOK MY PC CAN HANDLE CRYSIS"

That being said WW2>>> Aliens. And by that I mean I'll probably be playing Medal of Honor: Airborne most of september, the month of the Crysis demo. And during october I'll be playing TF2, and during November when the game actually releases I'll be playin' Hells Highway. W00tzorz.

Game for every month. Luckily for me, I only have to buy one of those games because my bro wants Crysis too, and hes obsessed with WW2 games. I only have to buy Ep2 :P

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CRYSIS!!! I hope the demo won't be like 5 gigabytes

kinda off topic but on AOTS the other day there was some short footage of Farcry 2 (or whatever the next one is)....it looked pretty SHITE-Y after looking at crysis, I mean what's the point after crysis right?

arn't a lot of people who made farcry the same people who made crysis anyway?.....it's pretty much the same, just not as F***ing beautiful....on an island, with super strength powers/etc....

You're on crack. Even I think FarCry 2 looks AMAZING. Technology wise here isn't ANYTHING Crysis has over FC2, both games looks stunning and in terms of visuals alone im leaning more towards FC2 actually.

Plus, if its at all true to the FarCry name, then FC2 will have WAY better gameplay than Crysis.

Edit: I heard FarCry's environment(s)/Draw distances or whatever are 50x50KM, that dwarfs the 16x16KM draw distance of Crysis. And since the draw distance isn't far from the size of the island, because interviews usually mention you can see the other side of the island from one side, then its waaay bigger.

FarCry 1,2 - Ubisoft
Crysis - CryTek

FarCry 1 was CryTek, though it was published by Ubisoft. But with CryTek busy with Crysis, FarCry 2 is a different developer (Ubisoft Montreal). Totally new character (no Jack Carver), new environment (Africa), absolutely no relation to FarCry 1 save the name, and the code (which has been 90% rewritten).

(no Jack Carver)

Thank goodness.

"Daaa-mn! I'm sealed in!"

Score one for Ubisoft.

haha Ubisoft has stated that Jack Carver was a non-entity, according to research. The majority of FarCry players surveyed couldn't even remember his name. He was, "the dood in the red Hawiian shirt". How's that for character development?
