i started a game with these four people on the other team. the first thing they said was that they were really good and that a lot of people were rage quiting. so i think to myself... "these guys probably suck...but then why are people quiting?..." i diddn't have to wait long.

the game started and the first round went by. they all got through but ( due to a terrible team mate) we diddn't.

on the second round they started hiding in invincible spots like under the pipes at the cresendo moment. still no problem with that.

third round they used cheap tactics to stop my team from finishing. exe. my team was downed at the last part of level. i was trying to clime up the laddder but everytime i went up a boomer stood on top of it to block me. so we all died cuz i could not get up the ladder by myself.

fourth round, tank spawned at end of level after opening of elevator. they hid in the vents all with auto-shotties. so we parked the tank. they cleared the area of zombies then led the tank into the vents and killed it.

finally. they jumped into the elevator, ruining our chances of getting any tanks

then after the game they called us cheaters and booted us

anybody have some stories they want to get off their chests... fell free to embellish a little. jk

You should have just listened to them in the first place. I find that usually people who are really good at the game and have a good team dont usually talk shit in lobby, they just play. As soon as someone is going on and on about how great they are, you know your in for some bullshit. Now thats not a hard and fast rule, but I find it accurate 90% of the time.

It is if he stands there only when the guy is on the ladder and cant shoot. Its kind of a shitty thing to do. BUT im not here to argue about that. I think your missing the OP point anyway.

Jump off the ladder dont climb back down. He will fall down and if he doesnt you should have enough time to shoot him before he climbs back out. Does this work for anyone else?

EDIT: Also why didnt one of your incapped friends shoot the boomer? But it probably wouldnt have made a difference being that your the last man standing.

Uh, Witch was spawned by a ladder we had to climb on NM5 To get to the roof top so we burned her, but she didn't die and she killed my friend so we thought oh she killed her victim now we can get him out, she killed us all as well o; I was like what the shit?

oh yeah? my friend accidentally shot her (on expert) and was killed so my other friend threw a Molotov at her and somehow Re-startled her and she killed him too. It was awesome

Jump off the ladder dont climb back down. He will fall down and if he doesnt you should have enough time to shoot him before he climbs back out.
he wasn't on the ladder, he was right above it and if i jumped off i would die, ( i was really low on hp)

Uhhh, this doesn't seem to be much of a thread, this seems more like a thread about how much you suck.

Not that I'm much better at playing L4D, but no team will just roll over and let you kill them. Seems like this team kept it a pretty air tight defense against your plots to kill them, kudos to them. Seems like they were bad winners though but it comes with the territory. Did you at least learn anything? cause they just schooled you!! I'm almost certain that you would do the exact same stuff to the next team you play.

For all the people that didn't understand what he meant with the boomer blocking his ladder. Basically you can't shoot while on a ladder, try it out if you don't believe me. The rest of his team was probably dead or above the ladder already. The boomer will pop on and off of the ladder to avoid to avoid from getting shot. So anytime he was on the ladder, the boomer will block and when he jumps off to try and shoot the boomer goes back up the ladder.

Nuttz, the boomer isn't gonna just stay on the ladder to get shot and the boomer won't go back on the ladder till the survivor is back on the ladder as well.

The worse I got is the enemy team went out of map on NM1 and camped.
On NM2; they opened the door and camped.
NM3; open+camp
NM4; make it to elevator and camped in the closet for half an hour.
NM5; open+camp

The part that really sucked was having no teammates with mics. We were still able to slowly pick them to death on all levels.

The next worse game I played was way back before the patches. I once played a game inwhich my team never got a tank or a medpack, while the enemy team got everything. Freakin medpacks all over the place. Every attack was pointless and we were doomed as the survivors. They even pulled the door trick and blocked the sewer on NM3 while my teammates refused to sink to their level.

None of that sounds particularly cheap if I'm honest, except maybe hiding in the vents versus the tank on NM4. The way me and the clan do it is stay in the elevator, each one to a corner and unload into it the second it appears. That way it can only hit one of us at a time while the rest are tearing it a new one.

It's a good tactic, and not an exploit by any means. Looks like this team just knew a few tricks is all.

Still, it's no excuse for smack talk though. Better players just turn up, get on with it and politely rape the opposing team.

I recently played and spawned as the tank in NM4. The survivors all retreated into the vent area around the elevator, but I simply squatted and went through the vent as well.

Once inside this area, they were fairly easy to pick off and knock down the elevator shaft. I think one survived by the time I was killed.

I dont see much wrong with there strategy yeah behind elevator is a little cheap but valve would of patched it if they didnt want it there. I think its a valid tactic and if you parked the tank it should have distarcted them enough to do some serious damage with 4 infected. But calling you a cheater and booting you is wrong.

Seems like sound tactics to me. There are ways around everything they did. Parking a tank takes careful planning on the infected side. You can't just stick it somewhere and hope it all works out. I guess they called you cheaters because you parked the tank. Some teams are OK with it some are not. I don't see it as cheating myself. Especially on the top floor of NM4.
So they were a bunch of cocky SOB's. I'm sure that left a bad taste in your mouth. But like I said, they were running sound tactics all the way. That boomer was just killing time until your other friend died. It's not like he pushed the dumpster over the hole (patched I know, thx). He just blocked it with his big fat butt. Sounds like a plan to me!!!

If you actually had a player as the tank you coudl have killed them there. My friends and I mauled a team that hid in the vents a few days ago, we just worked as a team to help the Tank.

As far as I can tell, these people are normal players.

p.s. the point of my story is that they ruined our finale and called us cheaters and booted us. while the boomer ladder part really pissed me off most of the level went on uneventfull

lol i got a funny story about "worst people ever". well ,there was a witch, and i snuck up behind her and got her in 1 shot in the face and they called me a cheater and kicked me. i thought it was funny.

and another time i was playing i used the "callvote changemission airport" thing and they all voted yes and thought i worked for valve.

wut im sayin is some people just aren't very smart, and some are sore losers. just something u gotta deal with.

Tip: If they go behind the elevator at the top in NM4, smack the generator to seal one side, then toss rocks or smack them when they try to get a shot on you. If they try to get close to the generator, and shoot through the cracks, give it a smack, if they're too close they'll get hit.

Frankly I can't stand people who sit there and brag that they're gods gift to the game. If you're good, you're good, get over yourselves.

This one happened like a month or to ago,

I was playing Blood Harvest, second or third chapter I think with two guys that were obviously friends. Anyways, my team ran ahead of me, I got smokered, friend A comes to save me, meanwhile friend B stays outside with the other guy. Both get attacked by a hunter, other person dies followed by friend B. Friend A walks out without me, he gets attacked by a hunter meanwhile I keep getting slowed down by these annoying zombies as I try to get to him as fast as possible. Friend A says to Friend B along the lines of: "Sorry, I was saving someone (aka me) that was getting attacked by a Smoker *gets attacked by a hunter, couple seconds go by* and now I'm regretting it."

I finally get within shooting range of the hunter on Friend A with zombies still clawing at me from behind and slowing me down and of course it had to be one of those hunters that seems like no matter how many times you shoot him, he won't die (of course I was using the mini uzi), then by the time I got to him he was dead, they then kicked me because I was a bad teammate even though they were the ones that didn't stay together. Even if I would have turned around and melee'd the zombies away it still would've been too late.

I've gotten over it and realize that there are just some stupid players out there on Left 4 Dead that just have a strange fetish for the kick button and use it whenever a minor problem occurs. That's why when I'm starting to get annoyed with a player I give him one or two warnings of what he is doing wrong before thinking about kicking him. And I always refuse to vote yes on a kick vote if no one supplies a reason why that player is being kicked (unless it's obvious like blatant team killing or going solo on the level leaving everyone behind).

This has probably been touched on already, but "parking the tank" seems to be a bit on the cheap side meaning that it was you (the initial post-er of this thread) who indeed needed to be removed from the game. Don't hate people for playing the game as necessary.

Parking the tank is not necessarily cheap IMO. I think if your always doing it then your being cheap, but there is a time and place for it.

For example: I was playing on NM1, we were survivors, and as soon as we dropped down that hole in the apartment building the tank came. We survived it but took a lot of damage and ended up getting through the level. Well, when the other team was survivors, the tank spawned before they dropped down the hole so the survivors never dropped down and then ran back up to the roof top. The only way the tank can get up there is to go outside into the alley and climb up onto the roof. If you do that, you will be a sitting duck and almost be dead before you get to the top. So we parked it. Thats just one example.

Now, if you are parking it just to get the extra infected character or some other lame reason, then you are a douche. Just my 2 cents!

If you park the Tank to get extra infected, of course that's cheap. You're adding members to your team. Like the example above, if you were given a bad Tank spawn, park it so it can be used more effectively. Sometimes, you won't even need it.

The Boomer on the ladder, it was a strong defense. One, he didn't cheat to get it to work. He just walked on you. Simple as that. If you were vomited on, all the zombies coming after you would have blocked you as well. I've tried that tactic myself. I know that who ever's coming up the ladder does not want to shoot me for they'll get blinded. And I know I can block them by standing on them. So put the two together. The survivor has the choice the just stick around and get blocked all day long or get off and shoot. And from what I understand, you had the chance to shoot. And if your buddies were pounced at the top and you shot the boomer at the top, you might have even freed them with the boomer's push. Weigh your options. If you were blinded, chances are you'd probably make it up before the zombies reached you.

If you have annoying teammates and you're in a level with a (high) ladder, crawl up before them and then turn around and heal them right as they are at the top
9/10 they fall down and lose health and/or get incapped
