STEAM downloading.

Everytime I try to play a game, while downloading something with STEAM, the download stops. Is it at all possible to keep the downloading going while I play?

I remember trying to find that option a while ago, but couldn't find one. Have you tried minimising and then manually right clicking and hitting resume download on the game? That could work.

For multiplayer games it makes sense. But for single player games, other than the minimal CPU/HD usage from downloading, the reason seems to be lack of a simple way for steam to accurately distinguish between SP/MP.

As far as I know you can pause every DL on Steam.

Err, yes. However, the original post clearly enquires whether it is possible to not have the download automatically pause when running a game/application through Steam.

only if u play none interent game or none steam game, i had trouble doing that wen i was getting some skins 4 css zombie server, the loading time of the server was shorter than the download, if u r getting of a server dw, if u actually downloading then just dont play a game ull lag anyway

Nevermind, STEAM lies. I completely 10% of a download while playing Red Orchestra, I guess it just stops for a bit maybe to let the other program go ahead and sneaks back in while its working.

Btw - Only nubs get lag that way.
