Hey you guys, didn't see any threads up for this, so I thought I would make an official thread. I am working on a video walk through for the campaign and skirmish, I apologize for the stuttering, but I am not going to post one of the videos because they suck ass, but if you are so interested, they can be found on wegame.com Look under SlainPwner666. Either way, I am stoked for the next installment, Company of Heroes Tales of Valor, coming out soon, what do you guys think?

I have CoH and the expansion. Play it every so often with my friend against some bots. That is the extent of my playing it though.

Human players are too good. It ends up being arty warfare in most matches which is just no fun.

Haven't played through much of the campaigns though.

Meh, I only use arty to take out MG nests. I hate pussies that just spam Artillery. I used to have OF, but I lost the CD key and I don't want to pirate it. I am definetly gonna grab Tales of Valor tho

I used to love the game until I realized how much I hated the huge effects tanks and vehicles in general had on the battle. Realistic? Sure. That didn't make it fun for me though..

As such, I only play it with infantry only and light vehicles, like the jeeps an d light APCs.

Yeah. It is so much more tactical playing with infantry then just spamming the tiger tank and nebelwerfers. Once I can get over a glitch I am having downloading the latest patch, we should get a 4 player co-op match against the AI going. Or just a 4 player game where we only use infantry and basic vehicles. That would be far more tactical

Like I said, I am having problems with Relic right now. I can't download the latest patch, and I have tried reinstalling. I will letcha know when I get a fix

I never run into players who just arty/tank spam and win, although every player has his/her own experience. I love CoH, and recommend it to anyone who loves RTS's. Even just comp stomping, or playing with a friend every so often is very fun still to me.

I am not sure. If it were possible to give them your CD Keys you would still have to redownload the whole game on steam.

I have the game, but not the expansion. I never played the game too much. Recently I started to play again but then got dragged away by TF2

mehhh i dont think company of heroes tales of valor will not be to fun because I mean the focus fire is kinda you know bull because the old Coh you use cover to keep your units alive and it seems that on CoHTV that cover is useless and you units die faster, thats just my thought.

Yeah, we will sure have to see. I personally hope it doesn't try to be a shooter, because it has always been an RTS at it's core

i boguth CoH in the case, after about 6 hours of it saying, you need to patch, patch downloaded, you need to patch again "I JUST WANT TO PLAY SINGLE PLAYER" then sign up at relic onine "DOESNT EXIST ANYMORE" Too bad you have to patch.

first game i never found a work around for that bad design.

If you've played cod4 I built a map which combines the BOG and CROSSFIRE together into an infantry only map and it works really well. There's a few extra areas and stuff but its a good map to make

Tried the demo, and already I found some pros and cons:

Pros:

- actually tactical.
- really fun.

Cons:

- my PC dies when it tries to play it.
- seriously, it's like it gets kicked in the nuts when I start playing it.

Yeah, the COH series has always been the Crysis of RTS. It is fun as hell though

Sorry, I should have specified - I meant the demo of the normal CoH. My main reason to get a better PC. I mean seriously, we bought this PC in 2004, and it can't play a game from 2003!? University soon, so I should get an awesome laptop then. ^^

Maybe the direct fire will be a copy of 'Men of Wars' direct control system, which actually was alot of fun.

Its been a while since I've played CoH, do stugs still have the bouncy shell thingy. Like whenever your tanks fire at stugs the shells just bounce off, its like they have trampolines strapped to them :D

Sorry for the HUGE bump, but I just bought this game a couple of days ago and am currently downloading it, should be done in a couple of hours. Does anyone on here actually play it anymore, if so we should get a game going sometime. I bought Opposing Forces as well, but not Tales of Valor, heard that was fairly shit.

Eh I can only download from 2am to 8am to prevent myself from being capped so chances are it wont be downloaded for a couple of days actually, and that's just the original game.

Tales of Valor is actually pretty fun, just was WAY too expensive at release. 8 or so campaign missions and an 3 extra gamemodes was too little to ask 30 bucks for.

Hmm, I heard it wasn't as good as Opposing Fronts because it didn't add nearly as much to the multiplayer. It's still 30 bucks for ToV isn't it?

Let's count.

1. Panzerkrieg. Basically a third person shooter/RPG, everyone gets the tank of their choice and goes to war in a capture the flag kinda thing. Except when a CERTAIN MODERATOR SPAMS ANTI TANK INFANTRY ASNDKNWDNWIANDSNDNDW

2. Stonewall. Pretty much the survival mode of RTS's, hold out against 20 waves of increasingly difficult Nazi hordes. My personal record is level 16. There were 3 Panthers, 5 Stugs, and a few Panzers with Knights Cross infantry and Nebelwherfers.

3. [Not sure of the name]. Basically the Infantry version of Panzerkrieg. You can choose between a Commando [SMG] Heavy Weapons Guy [LMG], Sniper [Obvious], and Engineer. One side has to destroy the other side's base defenses, the other side just has to survive.

And I THINK there was another mode, forgot. It's been months since I've played it.
