I am in the process of purchasing/building a new PC.. I am looking to have 2 monitors hooked up (naturally), as well as having my xbox set up right next to the PC... I would like to be able to hook the xbox to the Secondary Monitor in case someone still wants to use the PC (via the Primary Monitor) while I'm playing...

How can I hook the Secondary Monitor to both the PC and the xbox at the same time? Obviously, I know I can't use that Secondary Monitor for both at the same time-there's gotta be something I can hook it up to for the quick switches.. I'd really hate to have to unplug it every single time

I know that there's some Input Switches out there that work for different gaming systems, would that work? Any other suggestions?

----Note: I will not have a TV accessible to the xbox, so that part is out of the question for right now...

If that monitor has both a DVI connector and a VGA connector, you could hook them up to your video card and Xbox 360, respectively, and just change the input signal from one to the other.

that's true.. The monitor I currently have didn't have a DVI connector (don't remember if it came with when I bought it). I have to still buy that second monitor, so I'll definitely keep that in mind when I'm buying.

I was also thinking of the KVM switches (like the Avocent Switchview SC 220). I use them for work, but wasn't sure if the xbox would be compatible (don't know if there's a reason why they shouldn't be)

Its microsoft and your guessing at a several hundred dollar expense. I would err on the side of caution and just buy a monitor with both DVI/HDMI. That way you could have Xbox in HDMI and comp in DVI without losing quality. VGA is less nice than DVI or HDMI
