mic button not working

lol well it is plugged in works with vent and cs etc. just doesnt work with l4d in game and i tried setting it to another key =/

Do you have it enabled in L4D?

is your mic muted by accident? Alot of mics along their cords have some kind of mute button/switch. Make sure it is not muted there.

check if your mic is turned on in your console commands for L4D... I'm not sure of the command string, but if you google it there should be a solution.
