Well yesterday i finally got it, finally got my last achievement "Nothing Special" (taking no damage from special infected for an entire campaign) and having played alongside many people (NY Yankees 23 2 - Good luck trying to get it dude) trying to get this achievement ironically i got it with 3 computer controlled characters on single player offline mode. So i decided to put some advice up here for those of you who are struggling with it.

I completed this achievement as i said, offline on campaign mode. I found Blood harvest the best way to do this, because most of the levels are pretty open and the CPs "X-ray vision" through all the trees can be used to its full potential. Also note that Witches can do damage to the CPs, i had louis get hit by at least 2 witches in the campaign but i carried on and got the achievement when i finished. However i am still not sure whether a human controlled player can take damage from the witch. If you're confident with crowning then go for it, if not just let one of the CPs get incapped or better still just avoid her!!!

Most importantly i did not rush any of the levels, i plodded onwards at a steady pace, being ultra careful at all times. If you rush then you can run into problems just take your time. In terms of the tanks, simply make sure that you have an M16 or an Autoshotgun and unload on it, if all CPs are firing the tank will drop in less than 4 seconds. I used an M16 for the whole of the campaign but if there was a witch near to the second tier weapons i would crown her with a Shotgun, AT NO POINT DID I HAVE A SNIPER RIFLE.

As for the hordes stick together with the CPs and look in the direction they are not looking. If you get pounced by a hunter or dragged by a smoker, they should rescue you way before any damage is taken!

As for the finale, on bloodharvest i found that by waiting at the point where the army truck comes through is an extremely effective tactic, just wait there and let the CPs deal with the horde, The smokers come from the left almost all the time as well as the boomers. When the tanks come move forward towards the house and stay alert you should be able to take them down really easily. I kept a pipe bomb for the very end when the truck came and that was it, i had no more trouble from when the truck came to the point where i got on it and had the 3 CPs directly behind me.

Another couple of points i would like to raise is. If the CPs refuse to move then try shooting as this makes them come towards you or you can Click in the left stick of the controller whilst aiming at them to shout their name. personally i find shooting a lot easier.

Kind Regards, Holy Red Devil

I've noticed it seems to be easier to get (most) achievements with AI, as you know exactly what to expect.

Adding onto this piece of advice, I found that doing the Dead Air finale with AI is the easiest way to get Untouchables. As Red Devil says:

look in the direction they are not looking
Do that and you should have no problem.

yeah, dead air finale is great, especially if you can get the tank stuck underneath the plane. I've also found if you want to do dead air on expert it is possible to punch one of the baggage carts to the wing of the plane, making it possible to get on top of the plane! which used to be done using the turret glitch.

If you get boomerer on does that count?

if you get "boomered" on, you dont get damage, so you can get "boomered" on. However if you get "boomered" on and take damage whilst your are covered in vomit then unfortunately that does count and you will not get the "Nothing Special" Achievement

If you die in a chapter and you took damage from a SI and you have to restart the chapter.Do you have to restart the campiang or u can just try again?

you have to restart the whole campaign, otherwise this achievement would be a lot easier!

I still have no clue how you managed to do this!!! Ive tried and tried again with friends and solo! Although bots have an awesome view range i found when it came to tanks they are utterly useless, no matter how much i callled or tried to get them to back off a little, they still take damage. For anyone who really wants this achievement but has some 'not so eager' friends, i suggest getting them to go idle until you hear a tank, then have them resume play until he is dead. My opinion, this achievement is unfairly hard, there no official word on what does and does not count as damage and there seems to be a god like injustice as to whom gets the achievement ie ive been trying this for about 2 months now and i know some one who on their 4th/5th try got it!!!!!

As far as I know that's not quite right. It's been discussed many times before, so I will just quote myself from another thread (http://www.left4dead411.com/forums/index.php?action=vthread&forum=2&topic=10731&page=0):

Yeah, actually you have to start a complete new lobby! Forgot to mention that.

Although I'm not completely sure about that, but I think if you just return to the lobby and start again the achievement status will still be FAILED.

By the way, I think this topic isn't really xbox-only related, so it would fit into "main" as well. I'm on PC and found your report very interesting.

What did you do for the 2nd level with the alarmed door? I had a tank on the other side of the door but he didn't notice us however being locked in that room fucked me over with a boomer.

Damn well i got to part 3 when a tank spawned on top of a tree before the first house so i didnt notice him and i got sucker punched :/ and I read up that the boomer vomit doesnt count to the achievement, if the boomer punches you himself, thats what counts

Well I finally got it after months of trying!!! dont know about assist damage, when we got boomered on we just mad sure the unlucky person was protected and did not take damage from common infected. with the alarmed door, if u can hear a tank, try shooting thru the door n walls to try startle him first, that way he just dies out with out being able to attack you. if you can not startle him make sure u clear out all the zombies and specials before slowly scouting the next room looking for him, it may be best to just have 1/2 of your best players to do this and the others hang back in the beamed room b4 the alarmed door that way there are less chances of him hitting any one.

you like to quote, aye :P well no achievements in l4d are remotely hard just needs dedication as the deciding factor that makes this game such a triumph is the fact that its random and different everytime hence if your good enough, your eventualy going to get all the achievements.

I too got Nothing Special like this....Blood Harvest with 3 bots... Took me a good few goes, including getting to the finale a couple times but then lucking out on the tank.

When playing by yourself just take it slowly the bots will do most of the work when taking care of specials. When the tank comes make sure you are the one doing the MOST damage...he will just walk right past the bots after you. He dies in a couple of seconds.

Always keep a pipe bomb handy

For the finale I used a hunting rifle playing as Francis which gives bots using M16's and Bot Zoey is a beast when using a Hunting rifle...killed both tanks from along along way away.

Pipe bomb out for the approaching hoard and jump on the rescue vehicle....

So if the AI takes damage from the SI, you still get the achievement if you don't?

No. Why do you think? Nobody suggested this. The bots mustn't get hit either.
