I hear they've finally fixed the shadows, even if its taken god knows how many updates. Im downloading it now, looking forward to playing it. Unfortunately, my internet is being VERY, fucking, lame again. Stopped twice, but atleast the downloads fast, its at 87% now, I think it might make it this time. I hope I didn't just jinx it.
Edit: IT'S GONNA MEK IT!!!
Edit: IT MADE IT ZOMG ZOMG ZOMB W000 W000 WOOOOT PLEH PLEH PLEH
Okay... been having bad luck with games lately, seems to be a problem with quite a few of them. The only updated server puts me back to lobby after I've finished loading, I literally see a quarter of a second of the actual game then im thrust back into the server browser, no error message, nothing. The next populated server has differing maps.

I downloaded it a while ago after seeing this thread, curious of what it was.
Howcome not that many people play it?

For CS or HL
Is there a difference?

Is there a difference?
Well that does it need CS:source to get it work or does it just work whit HL2.

I think as long as you have a source game it'll work.
It should have a requirements page.

It's a hl2 mod why would it need a requirements page, the only way to get a mod is if u own hl2.

Thats slightly disappointing.
Anyway, someone play with me. Im actually getting a lot better, im pretty good on certain maps. I'm not to fond of being the Hidden unless its on overrun, but sometimes I can offer a small challenge to the IRIS. The pounce/wallhug thing is still buggy, the key scheme for it is TERRIBLE, the control sheme for the game is terrible actually, theres not secondary keys for anything!!!

the hidden rules, but there's nothing really to keep you coming back after a while.
This could be a good stealth action game for me, but I'd still rather have all of us on the "sneaky" team working together to get through a level.
Anyway, someone play with me
I'll play, just give me a server IP to add to favorites, and I'll meet you there.
ok, I found an ip address to go to, everyone add to favorites and meet there.

I experience the strangest "bug" while attempting to play The Hidden. Everytime I jump, my speakers emit a strange, high pitched whine. Impossible to play without wanting to kill myself, so I uninstalled. Looks fun, though.

lol
Here's the mythical requirements page: http://www.hidden-source.com/downloads.htm
Bottom line: You do need HL2.
lol
Seriously. I couldn't make that shit up. =)

Yeah, the truth is always stranger than fiction.
Is sound pretty necessary for gameplay?
Could you turn off your speakers?

sound is very necessary for this. Ok, maybe not since the hidden is invisible, but it's nice to know when he's swiping at you so you can shoot in random directions only to get killed by him anyway.
For those you didn't uninstall because of sound problems, go to this server so we can all meet up there:

I could never play a game without sound ... for me, at least, sound is as necessary as stunning visuals. That, and (in this case) to play an online FPS without sound is to put yourself at a serious disadvantage.

I understand the sound thing, especially since I use sound the most.
We could always all download the Splinter Cell: Double Agent multiplayer demo and play that with each other online.
If you have ut99, get the mod at www.thieveryut.com (http://www.thieveryut.com) and play that, it's awesome. If you have ut99 and get thievery ut, play me in it because I've wanted to play that with someone for a while.
