How bout a more fun version of Left 4 Dead?

Ofcourse. Realism. 4 survivors who are conviniently VERY well trained with fire arms, all conviniently immune to zombieism.. and dare i forget the MOST REALISTIC THING.. the zombies.

And I wasn't making a suggestion about TF2 Weapons, I was telling him that I thought they'd be fun.

I never said it was perfectly realistic. But why not just invoke mystical powers. Lets get some magi with healing magic and summoning meteors. Or no... Just need one with anti-zombie magic to say "oogada boogadah boo" and *poof* all zombies from the planet are gone because he has leet anti-zombie magicks.

I said all sense of realism. Meaning all that is there is gone. Its a game, its fiction, of course there is no way to have perfect realism. But you can try to make it as real as possible.

And yes, zombies in this sense are quite possible and not very far down the road from being possible in the real world.

Because in l4d they arent dead. Thats the point. Thats why they die from maiming (aka removal of a limb). They would die just like other creatures. Organ damage, blood loss, etc. They are suffering from an infection of mutant rabies. Rabies as is now causes zombie-like symptoms:
1) Activity during unusual times (night vs day or day vs night, whichever depending on infected species)

2) Attacking when instigated. Bother a rabid animal, it will attack you for no other reason then that you bothered it

3) Higher irritability. Rabid animals are much easily bothered leading to higher attacks due to #2 above

4) Disease spread from blood or bite. Rabies spreads from either of those two sources

5) Disorientation. A rabid creature due to the rabies virus gets brain damage which leads to great disorientation

6) Total immunity: Rabies (once full blown) is totally and irreversibly uncurable. The only way to cure rabies (the rabies shot) is to get it before the disease takes hold. Once you get symptoms of the disease. You are going to die.

So, the only thing separating us and zombies is the fact that rabies is 100% fatal to those it infects. All you need is a simple mutation making it a better virus thus meaning a mutation that allows it to not kill its hosts, and bam, you got zombies.
