New glitch?

So I'm currently in an XBL lobby, and my friend just told me of this glitch where apparently you can melee the survivors without ever being alive. Here's how he said he did it.

Basically, what you do is go far away from the survivors to where it says "Hit X to move closer to the survivors", and once you are far enough, you melee and quickly hit X and apparently get a free melee on the survivors, or something along that lines. I'm not sure if this glitch works on PC, but he said he pulled it off a few times and was in a game full of people like this.

Anyone else experience this glitch before?

Yes someone on these forums posted a thread saying they found a new glitch and he's the only one who knows about it. He eventually told what everyone what it was. Ever since then I usually get (I call it) ghost slapped once a day. Luckily it's not that effective.

Well... sounds to me like it's not too big of a deal. Not a game-changing glitch anyway. Although, I suppose if a Survivor was close to incap, it would be a pretty cheap move to pull over on them.

0n3, a glitch is a glitch regardless of how small of an effect it has on gameplay, and should be taken care of.

Not sure if it is on the PC unfortunately, you can test it out later if you like, or look to see if you encounter it, but nobody I've talked to really knew about it before now, and never remember reading about a fix for it. So odds are if it's on the 360, it's on the PC too.

Yeah, because everyone was getting angry at each other with unnecessary arguments and then people just went into chat mode. By time the guy mentioned the glitch the thread was pretty much already dead.

Oh ya, this glitch works for the pc, because my team lost because of this damn glitch, I was close to incap and saving a teammate when I got ghost slapped onto my knees and lost. sigh really hate glitch abusers sometimes.

Ditto, if you want an abuse free server, I can give you info to mine. And if you see any abusers (must have some kind of evidence or several people's word about it (so to avoid RAGE report (aka reporting someone has abusive just because they are either good or raping you/your team))) you can report them to me and I will make sure that they dont come back. I do not suffer any glitch/exploit use. This means all glitches and exploits are no-nos, examples: super shot glitch, running the alarmed door so no zombies spawn, etc

The only glitch/exploit (even though I refuse to use it) I do suffer is letting others use the corner behind the ammo dump by the elevator in NM. And i only suffer this one because I would get too many rage quits by people who cant play for real and have to use cheap spots.

I'd be in for a piece of that action, glitches get around fast in left4dead, by tomorrow this will be a glitch used 24/7, I'm always look for a dedi that has good management :3. Also, by vanilla do you mean "official"? I've been hearing that word a lot, and not to sound nooby (cause I'm not, my lingo is just lacking) is that indeed what it means?

Vanilla means without any modificiation. So, no sourcemod (plugin used to create admins and what they can do, including kicking and banning), no additional plugins (so no stats, no skins, nothing).

So basically it means its like an official server as far as function goes. Official just means valve owns/operates it.

Mine is not vanilla because I have SourceMod, and a minor gore mod, as well as a spray tracer and a stat program.
