Aiming as smoker

I´m curious...
how do you aim as the smoker?
Do you have a crosshair? Do you "lock on" the survivors?
Squerl and Frogopus, please enlighten me =)

I think your tongue just shoots toward the middle of the screen, and it falls with gravity like a grappling hook does, but if it runs into a survivor, it'll automatically grab them.

Its essentially a crosshair, if you click the head the tongue will shoot out and snag the Survivor. If you miss, it's going to be stuck to the ground for a bit.

It be cool if like, say you missed and your tongue flys into a drain grate.. then the drain grate comes flying back towards your face :P

Does it only take into consideration if the person's head was in your crosshairs at the time you clicked? I can imagine with the time it takes the tongue to travel someone will have moved and you'll be licking at air.

it sounds like you auto-lock onto their head, so the tongue will go straight for it, but if your click missed their head, you'll just shoot it straight out. Auto-locking if you accurately click at their head. We need more enlightenment to see if this is true, and this time squerl should tell us...

Thats the way it worked for us but keep in mind they've been working on the player Infected a lot, so I wouldn't dwell on things that could easily be changed.
