Got a friend request from this guy, never played with him before, never seen him before, no friends or communities in common.

http://steamcommunity.com/id/Kanstt (http://steamcommunity.com/id/Kanstt)

He is quite obvious in his methods, but just in case I am creating this warning. He is trying to impersonate steam/valve administration.

Despite his:
13 friends none of whom appear to be valve/steam employees or have any relation to them.
typo of "controle"
and he claims "Controle of steam id's or active users"

fail...

This is the first thing that alerted my FAKE alarm:
Controle of steam id's or active users

Then I saw his friends list of ONLY 13! and none of them are valve employees... totally BS.

I thought this kind of stuff wasn't allowed here?

What we usully don't want is badmouthing other players on an anecdotal basis, without giving them the chance to respond, but this guy is clearly a scammer. Everybody can see his profile and get their own opinion of him.

Pointing out a single fake administrator account is probably not going to be that effective, though, considering that there are over 15 million Steam users. I'd just report him and move on.

Just remember this simple thing that I believe is in EVERY steam PM.

"Steam Admins/GMs/whatever will NEVER ask for your password"

Shouldn't be that hard but I guess people still can't read in this world.

It's not just people asking for it though, there are sites out there that look official, but aren't.

Not only should you never give people your password, you should never enter your information on a website that you're not 100% sure is an official Steam website.

Yes telling someone your password in chat is stupid, but nobody deserves to have their information stolen no matter how stupid they are.. it's wrong no matter how you look at it and the people who are doing it deserve to be charged as criminals, not just banned from steam.

Indeed, I did immediately. But was just putting a look out notice out for this general thing and this particular guy.

I half agree. People who are dumb deserve to be treated as such and raped to the fullest extent. How else are you going to learn to not be a moron?

On the other hand, people who scam/phish should be placed in a room and beaten for 10 minutes every hour on the hour by a large man with a stick until he/she is dead (even if it takes months). Then put it on youtube. Things will change pretty god damn quick if you ask me.

All it does is increase your insurance rates, annoying paperwork at the bank, drops your credit rating, risks the bank account of your grandma...

Nice fantasies, but you should stop making statements for the sake of being controversial. I usually consider that as flamebait.

"The specified profile could not be found."

Looks like he is gone for good. Nice work. ;)

LOL Flaimebait? Really? Its not really a controversial statement when everyone would probably agree with it.

Except not. Not everyone agrees that someone should be beaten to death.

Nor does everyone agree that people who fall for phishing scams deserve it.

Agree again xD

Just SOME of them. The ones that fall for the blatantly obvious phishing scams do, but I've seen some VERY well made phishing scams.
