It's actually made by valve with stylish graphics that aren't two generations old and innovates instead of duplicates :P

sry for the outburst i'm just edgy cause I havn't gotten much sleep from football and school and I allready have 2 projects due friday and I got my NEW ZUNE (2 days) taken away at school and now I have detention for an hour 2morrow which coincidentally is the only day off from football and I lost (or got stolen) my car keys so my car is still at the school parking lot and my grandma is taking me 2morrow cause my parents are on a trip and we get our water from an underground well and I think it's running out cause I tried to take a bath and about half-way it got all dark brown and when it drained there was actually sand.: /........

I am extremely excited to get my hands on this beta. It is games like TF2 and L4D that really inspire me to be a game developer. Valve has shown that gaming is more than just "pwning n00bs" - it is a work of art.

You could always use a coat hanger and bend it in a hook. Then slide it under the seal of your window to lift up the latch mechanism. Not really.

Zombie Mod - L4D share one relation. Zombies... thats' pretty much it.
FF and TF2 share the classes and thats pretty much it.

They both play out completely different.

Look for a file called clientregistry.blob in your Steam directory.
Delete it.
Start up Steam.

The forums are getting bombarded by users due to the TF2 Beta being released today. I suspect the forums won't be back to normal for another day or two.

As for the TF2 Beta, the Linux server is what is causing the hold up. They are having some issues with the LInux server but if they can't fix it in the next one to two hours ,they will go ahead and release the client.

The windows server files are available to download now.

This game is too slow to even consider playing as a fun public game, let alone continuing the competitive history of TeamFortress.

Theres no bunnyhopping with speed acceleration, guns take up 40% of the screen, no concing, no grenades and rocket jump is absolutely pointless.

I've just wasted 45 dollars, i advise anyone who wants to play TF2 with the expectations of QTF and TFC NOT to buy TF2, play FF instead.

I you call firing a rocket into the floor then bouncing up slightly from a jump a real rocketjump then yeh, theres rj in the game.

My TF2 beta is not working, anyone have any advice? whenever I try, it starts up, I hear the valve music (without the image) and then it just shuts down and a message from windows tells me that the program has encountered an error and has to shut down. Halp please?

1) That's a good thing to prevent jumping people everywhere.
2) No nades for constant explosions and chaos everywhere? The soldier and demo provide plenty explosions with turrets.
3) Rocket jumping is gimped.
4) Rockets arn't gimped when used properly.
5) He is'nt overpowered. A turret can easily take him down and 1hs from a sniper can take him down. He goes down fast just like a tank in l4d.
6) Pyro is meant for people cramped together. When used properly, it is devastating. He's meant to push the opposition out of the area and create chaos.

My only other complaint is that it's much slower than what I'm used to. That's a good thing though. Everything is good and everything has been tried and tested by Valve which obviously shows. My other 2 complaints is that scouts don't really have a place anymore. The turrets are too powerfull also. Usually a team is complete engineers and it's impossible to get past a lvl 2 turret, let alone a 3. A demoman and soldier need to have a clear shot too but usually that turret takes you down faster than you can say "turret". It will take time to get used to and it has it's own style. IT'S NOT TEAM FORTRESS! IT'S TEAM FORTRESS 2! You need to get used to the game because it's completely different and you can't go around blowing shit up willy nilly anymore. How do you get to view your screenshots btw?

There is a folder called "screenshots" but I can't open them. I have some really neat ones in there too.

How is the rocket jumping gimped, it seems to work pretty close to TFC, unless I'm missing something (real question not a challenge :P)

The pyro does seem situational but much more useful than TFC. For example, I played a game guarding a cap point from spies, with a dispenser behind me. I was able to constantly spam fire to catch a whole team of invis spies trying to sneak through and test friend from foe. I had a medic backing me up the whole time (which I appreciated since it couldn't have been all that exciting sitting as long as he did). I really enjoyed that.

Engi turrets have been beefed up but they have lost their EMPs. I've only seen a few scouts manage to dart past turrets. Typically you need someone to take these out. The most obvious turret counter (if the turret is placed well) is the medic. Otherwise, rapid darting behind cover can fool the turret.

Theres no way of knowing class balance at this point.

The pace is slower than TFC but it is hardly a slow game!

Me too, I don't really care if anyone stats are ahead of mine, because as for as I know theres no special thing if they are. Im just curious about it also.

Also compared to TFC or FF, TF2 from what I've heard is a slow game(in comparison). Think grenades make it drop down like 8 notches on the speed-o-meter.

Still wish I had it though, so I could see for myself... best thing to do is to not go in there expecting it anything like TFC
