Alrighty fellas. I just bought an Xbox 360 VGA Cable to hook into my monitor, it works great. But now I am forced to hook the sound into my Monitor Speaker System and use it. Is it possible to somehow magically hook my Headphones into my 360? I know it doesn't have a Headphone jack, and neither does my monitor.

There must be SOME way.
And no, I don't want to buy that ridiculously priced Headset for the 360.

This might help?

This could help... but too expensive for a cheap solution.

Of course you can't use non-xbox compatible headphones with an xbox.

Ok, another problem.
I bought this: Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable (http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-VGA-HD-AV-Cable/dp/B000B6MLTG)
It works fine and all, but the end it came with was ANALOG. NOT Digital. In order to achieve awesome Digitial HD, I would need a DIGITAL END. Notice it's titled "Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable". I set it up in my System Dashboard, and it says it's 1280x1024, Normal, Standard. It won't let me change it to HD. Did Microsoft just rip me off by LYING to me about what they were selling!?

Is that the red yellow and white that's 'analogue', because I know I get my HD through the green, red and blue cables that are split off (but on the same wire) as the white red and blue. I'm guessing you don't mean it like that, but instead in the sense that it is not a single wire, like how I got with my PS3.

In short, I don't think it comes with it, you may have to buy it seperate.

Um, they said HD because it has HD resolutions:
1280x720
1360x768

Those two are 720P resolutions. My tv is 1366x768, I use VGA too, and it's HD, and VGA upscales DVDs too.

And Mshield's way is another way, it's too easy to make any headphones work.

I can't remember who at this moment, but a friend of mine was just telling me the other day that he was using some multi-port deal that allowed him to plug a mic and a cell phone earpiece both into his 360 controller and use those, maybe try searching for something along that line? or maybe just try one of those cell mic/earpiece combos?

That's only to talk and listen to the mic audio, not the game audio.

The Analog is used on Older Monitors, the Digital is much more high-quality and is USUALLY used to deliver HD Quality stuff (You'll see it used with the newest Graphics Cards). But Microsoft ONLY makes it in Analog, not Digital. Why? I have no idea. Probably some advanced money scheme that saves them a few bucks.
Luckily my Monitor supports both.

Looks like I may have to save up some money and buy that ridiculously overpriced Headset for the 360. Better be worth it.

EDIT: I also figured out that all it does is up-convert. Worthless.

Have a peek on this website. http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/gaming-headphones.aspx

I use wireless headphones, bought them 3 years ago. The IR transmitter "splices" on the ends of the audio dedicated cables. And I still have to plug its cable (headphones) into my controller to talk.

Nice though. I can hear that Tank panting up ahead WAY before my teammates.

But we can agree that Astro a40's beat the shit out of TurtleBeach Products.

Darkmessiah... I'M NOT PAYING THAT FUCKING MUCH FOR HEADPHONES.
I'd much rather buy a 3.5mm Female to 3.5mm Female adapter. Which is about $8 at Radioshack.

I guess this is sort of OT, but o well...if you want crazy good surround sound headphones that'll plug into your xbox, tv, PC, basically ANYTHING, then look no further than

http://casacena.com/?p=42

this is the set I have, and they work really well (In FPS games like COD5 and HALO3 I can always tell when someone's sneakin up on me, it's pretty cool)

I think there's a newer version that's specifically just for the XBOX that looks better, and connects wirelessly VIA USB to your 360, whereas the older version (one in link and the one I have) connects via optical cables (red laser plugin in the back of the red/white/yellow cable, but the end that plugs into your 360. it's a little black cable square on the back of that).
