Alright, I was just curious as to what yall thought were some of the most epic soundtracks. I realize this thread is similar to:
http://www.left4dead411.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10659&highlight=soundtrack
But that one is solely about video games. I'm talkin about of anything. I'm looking for some nice soundtracks because they are a good variety to my rock music.
Stuff im looking to come from: Anime (most anime's actually have quite epic soundtracks, or atleast a good song or tow), Video games (FF7 soundtrack ftw), Movies (Im a bit hesitant to include this because most movies only have mainstream music which often times sucks hard core), etc.
Spoken language is no barrier to me, most of the best soundtracks come from japan/japanese.
edit: I will stretch this a bit far and say im also open to music that sounds like it would make for an epic soundtrack or music by someone who is part of an epic soundtrack.

The Last Remnant OST (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Oisoh22lIg&feature=PlayList&p=2DD7AD76E65CA38D&index=0&playnext=1) is my favourite soundtrack at the moment!

I'd stick my neck out and say that Philip Glass's score for the documentary Koyaanisqatsi is one of the most epic film scores I've ever come across. It's grand in scale, stirring and powerful, and experty performed by Glass's own ensemble. It's always being used in other films - two of its pieces were used to great effect in the recent adaptation of Watchmen - but it's best in its original context.

Here, let me Google that for you. (http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=lock+stock+and+two+smoking+barrels)
Oh, and the only movie I can think of right now is 28 Days Later, the theme is epic. And for Video Game I think we can all agree that Ocarina of Time beats them all by a mile.

As for anime, the only one I've had enough interest in is Bleach. The songs may not be EPICALLY AMAZING, but the way they're used is really good IMO.
Probably obvious, but LOTR had some of the greatest movie soundtrackever (full orchestras usually work pretty well) as well as another obvious one Final Fantasy: Spirits Within.

As much as I hate to pretty much repost the same stuff from the game soundtrack thread...
Games: Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, Elder Scrolls 3 and 4, Guild Wars series. Any Jeremy Soule really. The Mass Effect soundtrack was quite good as well, though I'm generally not a fan of synth.
Movies: John Williams, Hans Zimmer.
Can't throw anything in for anime though, I'll leave that up to the folks that watch much more of it than I do.

It's still a video game.
Doom 3 with it's opening theme wins hands fucking down.
Anyone who's listened knows I'm right :P
