Limited punching? WTF!

After downloading the survival package for xbox (thank you valve:)), i was ready to kick so zombie ass, but before i could play i was asked to download another upgrade. What could it be i asked myslef new zombies, new guns or just tweaking a few things? NO! the answer i got was that valve have decided to limit the number of punches you can do with the gun. This new upgrade is really pissing me of and just wanted to know does anyone else feel the same way?

Quit complaining - as a PC user I have been working around this limitation for over a month now and guess what: you get used to it and you learn to stop n00bing it up with melee-spam.

OT - You'll get used to it. I hated it at first, too, but eventually you'll understand the concept and stop trying to spam melee.

yeah i noticed this on Hospital, i usually hide in the corner and melee like crazy, but it hit once and thats it (i usually hold melee down) and i was trippin balls because of it, its really stupid THUMBS DOWN for Valve... but 2 Thumbs up for valve with the maps... i can't be pissed and happy at the same time!

I just think it's funny when people talk about how you wouldn't be able to do something in "real life". Like every other aspect of the game is totally realistic.

Anyway - yeah it took me a while to notice the timer. I was wondering why I was getting owned worse than usual, then I noticed i couldn't melee like I could before...

It's not a matter of realism really, more of game balance. This greatly hinders the "legit strategy" of corner camping and encourages a little more thought to be placed in your plans. Of course, closet camping's still around I think, so . . .

It makes the game much harder for the survival side of play. I welcomed this update with open arms, as it has mad competition much harder.

I understand this nerf for Versus mode, but I think it should have been left out of Survival.

Either way, it doesn't affect anything if you don't melee spam, so break the habit and you're golden. :)

It forces you to change how you play. I know since the PC update I've gotten better about using pistols instead of sitting there clicking melee.

Yeah i totally agree with you, i think the Survival needs some arm pumping 'unrealism'. For the record theirs nothing better than punching a hunter to the ground:) and getting everyone on versus to wack Zoe repeatedly in the lift until the comments of 'you like that dont you' drive the person to leave!

Yeah it does suck now, but its easy to get used to. Its better than the alternative melee-spam that people are used to.

Funny side note: I was playing survival for the first time yesterday right after d/ling it and I was melee-ing a lot and all the sudden I couldnt melee anymore and I was like "wtf is my controller broken". Then I quickly realized that the melee patch was added.

The melee cool dwon can be annoying but it does make it so you can't corner camp as well anymore and makes it so you have to time your swings more and also makes you run out of ammo a lot faster making ammo piles more important.
instead of 'oh some ammo' its now 'AMMO! SWEET SWEET AMMO!'

I have posted once here, because I usually stick to GB. I come to 411 to see what everyone cries about once in awhile. It's actually very fun to read. This patch is what makes this game so much harder and teamwork orientated.

The punch limit works well on vs but on survival mode its a piss take, I mean even the bots can't do shit now. . . And I know it ain't them being dumb on all the modes because I finally completed Dead Air solo last night
