just letting anyone who cares know, and this topic is not for disclosing information, just telling everyone that im pretty excited its happening so close regardless of whether or not it will be a good movie.

It's local, and probably not funded by one of the big names in movies, but im pretty damn sure this is the movie everyone said would be coming out.

If that movie poster is what the Hunter is supposed to look like I want nothing to do with it as far as ever seeing it. lol

Hah didn't anyone else watch the trailer/teaser. 'non profit unofficial movie'. Ahh well that doesn't sound exactly promising considering most great video games when adapted to movie form usually goes to the shits even when directed and produced by big Hollywood directors and producers. Max Payne anyone.

Hmmm. Given the look of that website, and the fact that they're asking for donations rather than investors, I wouldn't hold out much hope of ever seeing this movie made. They seem to be all excited about posters and teasers, but they don't even have a full production team yet.

Hahaha exactly what I was thinking so I guess we will be waiting for some big Hollywood people to pick up the movie so we can get all disappointed at what a terrible job they did at it.

I'm pretty sure VALVe isn't one for selling their stories for movies though... IIRC, didn't Uwe Boll, or someone, try to buy rights to make a Half Life movie and they refused?

Hmm how about a Left 2 Dead FORUMS movie. Then we could all be in it and have happy times with boomers. :D
OT: Well if it doesn't suck its fine

Anyway, we already have "movies of" Left 4 Dead, after a fashion. Dawn of the Dead (2004), 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later...
And I can't help but think that the Hunter, Smoker, Tank, etc, would come across as faintly ridiculous outside of a video game context.
edit: These people are shooting already? Even if it's "not for profit", they'll still need to secure the rights to the license, and that might eat up a lot of budget, and I doubt Valve would be happy for them to use the name for free given that they'd be trading on their work. It'd be cheaper for these guys to make a non-L4D zombie film...

Depends on how it's done. Horror can so easily cross into comedy if the material is not treated carefully. First, the look of each one should be perfect. Too bad this is fan made, and Stan Winston is dead.

For me, part of the horror of zombie movies is the idea that the monsters out to rip you apart are people you might have known. The boss infected in L4D are too "monstery" and apart from the Hunter, don't really chime as human. What I mean is that the very idea of "bosses" would strike a movie-going audience as a very "videogamey" thing. Zombies are frightening enough, and having these super-zombies (that do work well in the game) would actually detract from the horror by diminishing the impact of the ordinary infected/dead.

I wonder what that movie would be like, I mean, I know it definitely wouldn't be anything close to Half-Life at all.

There were a few local news articles on it. My dad was reading about it and i overheard him say something about them hiring actors, and they needed a few hundred or so. Obviously it can't be made any other way :D. (if only i could get in on that though... too much going on)
I also heard him say one of the actor zombies had a fake fence post through his body, and he commented to the paper. "Yeah i was just walking around going zombiezombiezombieFENCE". i guess that was his story :D
EDIT: My bro knows someone that got to be a zombie "extra" as they call the commons.

Yeah, that completely fucked up BloodRayne somehow. If he did Half Life it would probably be a huge disappointment. I heard that he had offered to buy L4D too, but now he has a movie coming out called 'Zombie Massacre.' wtf lol

Honestly, I don't know whats going on, the web hosting is in Italian, but majority of the page is in English... and I can't seem to find any information on where they are filming, so I'm really not that sure. It all seems very fishy to me, and they're "teaser" trailer is a joke, its just the logo and thats it.
