I never played TF1 or classic
and i m thinking of getting Orange Box
Was the Beta any good? Because i havent set my mind to getting this game yet
I might try if users found this game to be good

Not true. I've played QWTF, TFC, TF for Q2 and 3, Weapon Factory (which was imo a really fun TF knock off mod for Q3, and FF. And I have to say TF2 blows them all out of the water.

I haven't had this much fun in an online FPS in years.

I have played most every FPS released and TF2 is honestly the cream of the crop. Everything about the game (including menus/ui) has been well planned out.

My only gripe is that respawn time is a little long but at the sametime it needs to be that long to allow a change in power to occur as far as defending-attacking capture points.

I still like L4D better, but TF2 is definitely a work of art and worth every penny.

I loved qwtf, was a classic game
personally never got into tfc wasn't my cup of tea
now tf2 is just all around fun, there isn't a single class I havent found fun.

The only gripe I have so far is that the Pyro's flamethrower needs a slight range increase.

I love it. Its taken me a bit to get into it and realise how good it is, but even as a beta its a great highly polished game! great style in graphics/gameplay and basically a refreshing change:)

buy it...

Tomorrow I will test the Xbox 360 version of TF2. There is a games convention, here in Vienna and they are showing the Orange Box for the 360. Unfortunately single player only.

I played Portal for an hour today, and it's really cool. :)

I'm really diggin TF2 btw, to answer the original question. Would have been a worthwhile purchase all on it's own. Add EP2 and Portal and it's a must have purchase. If you don't pre-order and start playing TF2 now, your crazy!

I said he would probably like it if he hadn't played the original TF's and wouldn't expect anything, I didn't say he wouldn't like it otherwise. Sheesh.

Everything moves so strangely in TF and FF, it looks so amatuerish. It's like SPAM GRENADES AND EXPLOSIVES TO WIN, and it doesn't attract me at all. TF2, on the other hand, attracts my attention.

why has everyone turned really hostile towards each other in this forum? When we first set off on our L4D journey everyone was cool with each other and a lot of people still are, but it seems to me like everyone feels they either have something to prove, or just want to start arguments...

If u like FF thats cool, if u like TF2 its cool. Just talk about the games with other peaople who like them, instead of arguing and trying to prove points that will never be settled with the people who don't.

Actually it requires a lot of skill to do this well... if thats how you think its being done then NOOB. Seriously... it was a skill in TFC, very useful one to be able to manipulate certain jumps... Obviously not present in TF2 but we'll see... or I guess I'll see, what else is in there. Not to be devils advocate to anyone, but theres just that feeling of nostalgia and fun being able to conc jump or even grenade jump when I have to, that TF2 will never satisfy. TF2 is just a whole nother game in total... Valve should have just renamed it to avoid all the frustration (not coming from me) and not a total name change, something like QTF or NTF... but... new... and not TF 2

Except no one is arguing, you guys just try to defend it against imaginary arguements. Besides Deltus of course, but what can you expect.

But seriously, I just don't like how it plays. I tried one of the earlier TF's, and it was... weird.

its pointless to argue, that is to say i am a ff fan my honest opinion is that tf2 is an excellent game... but it is not a clan game... to play for fun in clans, but not competitively. the game doesnt have that much challenge that you can't pick up with minutes of playing each class. which i guess is good init's own rights... but it's not a highly skill'd game where other tf games have been and ff is...

tfc/ff/tf problem in multiplayer is it's public servers... they suck. for reasons that have been said, the spam of grenades everywhere and so forth... but clan play in tf games (inc ff) are far skilled(and imo superior) which you will need to put time and effort into to be good at the game... i think tf2's problem will come with competitive play. sure you can pick up and play on pub's really well and have shed loads of fun, but imo clan wars will suck badly...

pls don't flame me, if anyone want's too, this is just my opinion, make your mind up on both games.


ff needs it's next patch very quickly to get rid of some of the main bugs. but is still very playable irc is the way to go and play pickup clan style games...



ff ftw ;D ff=hardcore fan base.... tf2= fun pubs... and thats the way i see it :)



**edit** ff players. don't make new commers leave, the ff community want's people who are willing to help new comers put a *h after your name in-game to shown new commers that you are willing to help them and show them the ropes
