$120 for a new mouse? SHIT! Buy something worthwhile. Don't waste $120 on a mouse....

WELL WELL
SOMEBODY WITH A BUDGET I CAN AGREE ON.
I wasn't going to mention this mouse but since you have a ridiculous amount of money, I'd definitely recommend the Logitech MX Revolution. That's the one with the scroll wheel that changes from click-to-click to free scrolling. more importantly, it has a shitload of buttons--the most buttons on a logitech mouse as far as I know, and the most buttons on a quality mouse as far as I know. (I tried the cyborg mouse but it's POS) In L4D all the extra buttons control console commands to help me map. In TF2 the extra buttons help me switch weapons, and when I'm not gaming the extra buttons help me to never need to touch my keyboard.
Before that I had the G7. Swell mouse. One less button than the G5 but it's wireless and I hate the leather feeling on the G5. The slick plastic tends to feel grimy though and the battery life is sorta lacking(although it comes with two easily-swappable batteries. So easy that I worked out a motion that would have both batteries switched in 2 seconds in the middle of a firefight.

Why not just buy a regular mouse instead of one that costs $100.
I don't know when people got so silly as to spend up to $120 on a mouse.

Yes, best buy carries this mouse.

Well, I said it HELPS me not to have to touch the keyboard. Anyway you suck. I've got two buttons for browser forward/back. Then rocking the mouse wheel left and right gives me "Ctrl-S" and "Enter," perfect for saving images to my standard funny image folder. As you can imagine having an enter button on my mouse helps me quickly close out message boxes and etc. Pushing down on the thumb rocker is Ctrl-Shift-T for re-opening closed tabs. I haven't figured out a use for the two directions on the rocker, cuz really that's all I need. I'll probably wire them to open notepad and explorer for me though.
Anyway it's a great mouse.

I'd imagine most people don't need to spend $120 on a mouse--this mouse is the most expensive I know of and it's not even that--but there are reasons to buy expensive tech. With quite a few things nowadays, you'll never know you need something until you've used it for a while. My productivity is increased greatly by removing the half-second it takes to move my right hand to the enter button, and it helps even more with the L4D console commands I use most often.

"My feelings are hurt Felios," Darkmessiah said to the cat indignantly. "You know that I don't suck!"
Dark started to slump off after he threw away his cup onto the sidewalk, leaving Felios alone and cold. Messiah always knew one day that something like this would end their friendship. He looked at his past...
1989 - Saint Louis, Missouri
"Hey, Dark, spit or swallow?" Felios said it in front of his other friends, and they all laughed at the innuendo.
Darkmessiah stood there, his face darkening. Once again, he walked off into the night. As he did, he whispered to himself, "Swallow..."

I have this mouse from BestBuy called "RocketFish". It has a very long battery life and feels good in your hand.
Unfortunately I can't find it online ANYWHERE.

the mx revolution is a pretty nice mouse, but I still think its unnecessary because the majority of the money your spending is due to the fact that it has a motorize wheel... for the webpages that are 10 miles long or the fact that you have to get to email #3 in 203123401 mail from your inbox.... I personally would just recommend a razor due to the fact that they feel comfortable, best gaming mouse around, great tracking, and have enough buttons and a pretty nice customization software for you to mess around with. those are my 2 cents

Agreed. I went from a Razer Copperhead to a Logitech G3 and got used to them both very quickly. I went with the G3 simply because I'm left handed but they're all pretty decent gaming quality.

I've been using the Logitech MX518. Very reliable, great mouse... as most of Logitech's are.

I also have been using the mx518, love it. Seems a bit big at first but your hand adapts.

I have had the first gen G5 since the week it came out and was 70ish, 3 years now and still beats any mouse in that price range. I personally think it is better feeling than the new version of it. Go with Logitech, extreme quality products, and I don't think you need to spend more than 80+ on a mouse. Anything more is over kill...

I've been a Logitech guy for many years and currently use a G9, which may well be my favorite mouse of all time.
I have an MX Revolution for my laptop, but I wouldn't use it for gaming. It's far too slow to game with, compared to dedicated gaming mice with much higher polling rates. There's a small but very noticeable (to me, anyway) input lag between physical mouse movement and on-screen movement. It also doesn't help I'm a DPI junkie and run 3200dpi with the G9.
I used a Razer mouse for less than six months before the wheel stopped working. It initially would trip the scroll randomly, then eventually ceased functioning entirely. I've had this G9 for I guess about 2 years now without a problem, and prior to that I used an MX518 for at least that long as well. Lots of good experience with Logitech, not so much with Razer.

I have a hard time believing you use all that precision. What sensitivity do you use?

btw... idk if you use Newegg but they have the Logitech MX518 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104178&Tpk=logitech%20mx518) for about $40, or whatever other mouse you want, it would probably be a good price there too.

I like higher hardware precision with lower software sensitivity. I've done a lot of testing with different mice and seeing the effect of low DPI with high software sensitivity and the inverse and just feel like the latter is smoother and more responsive.
I use 1.5 sensitivity in Source if I recall, and have the wheel tilt bound to change DPI on the fly if I ever need to. Not using it so much these days, guess I'm too used to 3200/1.5.
