Been saving up money for the past 4 months. And I now have 50ish dollars. I plan to buy from amazon since some of the money is on there already in gift card form. I would like a game. But I don't know what... I was going to get the sims 3, but the DRM issues kinds scare me. So what do you think I should get?
P.S. Games preferred

You've been saving up for four months and you only have 50 dollars..?

Anyway, Orange Box is always something to consider if you already haven't gotten it. Plenty of award winning games for a low price.

Your pocket money must suck balls!

But if it took you that long buy the orange box, it will last you a while.

There is no DRM on Sims 3. They took it off

Ah... i remember those days. Hmm... I would strongly suggest the orange box if you dont have it already because tf2 alone will net you atleast 200 hours of play easy. I have probly around 600 to 1000 hours since the game released. So thats a huge bang for your buck.

Dont get the Sims unless thats a kinda game you can really play for hours. For me, it just gets boring after an hour or two. But gf can do it for hours and hours. But then again, I dont think it draws her like tf2 does me and she certainly cant boast 600 to 1k hours in 2 years, lol.

Spore is also pretty fun, but falls prey to the same ol same ol Sims problem. It just gets boring and monotonous after awhile for me.

*shrug* depends on what kinda games you really like the most. So that begs the question. What games do you like the most?

Orange Box.

The Sims 3 should be coming out on Steam DRM-free.

That too. I made a horrible mistake buying spore in stores when it came out on steam like a week or 2 later. Mine is DRM'd and the steam one isnt. >.>

Well I got orange box the day it launched.. I have netted nearly a thousand hours since then on tf2 only. But yea... I don't know, I have liked the sims for a while, I like building. But anything else? Thanks for your ideas though.

give me money to buy a year on my xbox live account, if you wanted to REALLY put it to good use. Saint's Row 2, if you have a 360 or Fable 2

save some more money and buy the steamgamespack for 90$ or something
it includes around 15-20 games

I thought it was pretty common knowledge that like 90% of this board owns every valve game ever, so recommend something else.

How about Company of Heroes? Great RTS.

I'd like to see some of those statistics you apparently have, or are you just talking out of your ass?

It's what we like to call a joke my friend. Chill out. I wouldn't have said that if this wasn't basically a valve ass-kissing forum.

Humm I should have listed the games I own already, since everything that has been listed except fable 2 and eve I own. I had fable, did not get into it. And eve... It scares me... lol I;m just kidding... but I guess I will just figure it out on my own.

If anyone cared, I decided grid and mirrors edge, since grid is 30, and mirrors edge is now 20 on steam.

I played that Plants vs Zombies game on Steam, and it's addicting as hell. Only about £7 ($12?) so it would leave you with a fair bit left for something else.

If you like RTS', get Sins of a Solar Empire. It's a space RTS but instead of being quick battles over a small map, you build your empire over massive galaxies. It has some epic battle scenes with ships exploding and lasers flying everywhere, as well as a cool system of Marketing and Alliances.

As soon as I'm done with these God damn exams, it's first on the "buy and play indefinitely" list.
