Tbh I think it's stupid. Now before you click anything, hear me out first. The videos with the survivors when they are talking about what they went through is bs. We know these people probably went through a lot in their life. Now they got Microsoft giving them money to talk about bs they don't even know or care about. They are probably thinking to themselves "wtf am I saying?! Sounds like I'm a nerdy guy or something". These movie trailers are semi-lame too. Basically it looks like a bunch of CGI with people in costumes. The entire film is set in a paintball arena no doubt. Other than those videos, the Halo 3 ad campaign has been very good. *Oh jesus, they had to make CGI blood as well. You know it's bad when that happens. *Along with the fast cutting and editing of the film. You know the actors can't act or show too much of the blue screen.

Fan boy much. They are doing amazing things with such a low budget, and it's action packed.

I'm not a fan boy. In fact I like both the games (and have them on PC) but I don't think they are overly incredible. My stance on making a video game movie is this: you either do it right or you don't do it at all.

I'm hopeless because there was shit blowing up left and right and I didn't have a clue what the marines were trying to do?! Go watch Doom and any other pos film like that new Resident Evil movie. Hate to break it to you Hool10 but that is actually made by the guys at Weta Workshop (Peter Jacksons baby). They had done a shitload of weapon/CGI/props for the Halo movie before the rug was pulled, so they got permission to film that short from Microsoft to show what they could have done with more money and 130 mins runtime. It was even directed by the guy (Neil Blomcamp) who was due to direct the feature. It was done so well, M$ decided to use it for the ad campaign for Halo 3.

I agree... because it IS computer effects and people in costumes. What do you expect from a low-budget short film? The game is about aliens and spaceships. How realistic can it be?

I still think that the zombie movie on Steam is the best zombie movie ever. That was very low budget too. Look at every John Carpenter film before CGI. People who like CGI should join the George Lucas crowd because frankly, I hate CGI. Except LOTR and the HP movies.

Mega hype, and with the exception of GoW I guess, the only decent FPS' on the 360.

The 3rd short=fucking amazing. Grav hammer part was my favorite. I WISH they'd have done a movie though, too bad. It would made BIG money. And the way thats going, they're not lacking anything in action scenes.

Not really, Star Trek was probably really big, and it is the longest running Sci-Fi series ever. The new Star Trek, Enterprise I think its called is actually pretty good. I watched it a couple times over the summer when I was bored in a hotel. I can see why it has such a large fan base even though the passed Star Trek's seem corny and stupid now. In fact, I recall watching a really old school episode of Voyager, with... ugh, his name escapes me now... Nvm, it was William Shatner. Anyway, I didn't mean to but I actually ended up watching that whole episode. Just because its old doesn't mean it ain't good. Also wasn't Star Trek famed for having a black woman portray an important role, god knows I can't spell her name, or know her real name... But its mentioned a lot when the topic of Star Trek arises. Gotta respect that kind of stuff, doing so will only make it hurt less in the future when Halo 3 is the equivalent of clay-mation.

Halo is a good series, arguments only arise when outlandish things are said, like its the BEST... anything really.

Over-hype? It's usually veteran gamers that are more likely to see Halo for what it is. Usually when they say 'best' and stuff its out of personal opinion, but some Halo fans actually think its technically, statistically and whatever, the best game out there. Which it isn't, and that's, for me, when the arguments arise. Especially those who think Halo is in the least bit innovative. All im trying to say.

Also, comparing the number of people who went to those celebrations, and simply to the people who had a 360 and stayed home... im guessing it'll favor one side, but not dramatically. There's no way, without a massive poll to figure out the accumulated disinterest when it comes to Halo (People who aren't interested don't usually bring it to conversation or anything)...so... I know where I'm at people ended up buying one copy for 4 people and just sharing it around, for now obviously... and a handful never bothered.

That said, my friend and I were going for all the permutation requirements again earlier today. There's a really cool one on the back of his "Official Guide" that caught my eye. Looked very snazzy. Actually better than MC's armor. The guide is actually really thick, not like the Prima things which seem like newspaper ads in comparison... Too bad its Spoiler Free, because reading during class, I might not have had to play the game at all. Damn spoiler free things.

Sadly the only 360 exclusive I have to look forward now to is Mass Effect.
