So I want to get a new graphics card. I'm looking for one around $150. Also, will it be able to fit in my computer? I am kind of a noob at that part, but my friend will be able to put it in for me once I get it.
My current graphics card (not much of one) is ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro. (128mb). It sucks.

The Crytek engine is extremely well optimised, it's just that the graphics are so intense that you have to spend alot to play it on Max. But OT, I recently got my 9600GT for abit less than that, and so far it's a pretty good card.

I used to have that exact one.
It DOES suck.

Slightly above 150$, but it's worth it.

I thought Dells weren't very configurable.

Factory ones aren't, but who knows, maybe he modded the case?

Crytek engine is extreme UNoptimized. Crysis Warhead had to fix MANY things so you could get a decent framerate.
Far Cry 2 looks just as good, and I get 20-30 FPS more on very high than what I get on Crysis.
Crysis didn't need a beastly rig because of its graphics, it needed a beastly rig to handle all of its faults.
To DTard,
Well, if he's asking for a 150 dollar card without already looking at Newegg, he probably doesn't know how to mod a case.

Maybe somebody else modded it for him?
You never know, maybe he got some random case that wasn't like a factory one..
Stranger things have been known to happen.
But yeah, Dell casses are very dumb. All those sliding locks and weird gizmos.

well the case will fit the cards i said but if u got like a sound card u might need to move it to a lower slot. u still need to check your power supply.

Here, let me help. (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Dell+Inspiron+530&l=1)
That video card I posted earlier should be perfect Grubster.
Also, it would be a lot better if we got a full list of Specs, especially the Mobo.

Thats true... you'll probably have to get a new power supply.

Crysis is miles ahead of Far Cry 2 in terms of graphics, it even looks better in Medium than FC2 does on high. Take into account that Crysis has more stuff to process, the (semi) destructible environments, way better AI, and almost everything is completely dynamic. If you want an extremely unoptimised game go play Lost Planet PC or STALKER Clear Sky.

not to start a war or anything but crytek engines are well known for the poorly optimization even farcry didnt run good with the specs they put on the box, it looks good but thats about it. they need to learn how to optimize their engine.
back on the topic: you will prolly get the video card and the power supply with a little over 150 first look what graphic card your going for most of them right now are just 2x6pin connectors for the power extreme graphic cards are 1x6pin and 1x8pin but i guess your not going for that. just make sure wich card your going for and what connections the card will require and then choose your power supply and depending in the card your getting and with your current setting you will choose the watts of your power guessing that you only have 1hd and 1 dvd drive couple fans in the case and 3 memory sticks i would say that a 550watts will be enough. if you have any questions at all just keep posting im pretty sure there will be viewers that will help and i will too keep your questions if you have any :P

I don't want to start a war either, so I'll let this one slide...
