Hey guys,

I've been searching the whole web for other people who have the same problem as I have, but I can't find any topics about my problem.
My L4D game runs excellent, except the textures...they're mixed up sometimes or just missing. I've posted a ss so you guys can see.
I hope someone can help me, thanks in advance!

Lol, that is really strange. Try a "Verify integrity of game cache" and defrag the cache files. In theory, it should work. If it doesn't, reinstall.

Also, did you install any skins or custom textures?

I actually had these before. Another common one for me was seeing these big spears coming from survivors' heads. Mine just fixed itself. But I've moved my files all around so i've reinstalled a number of times which thus could have fixed it. So try what boojangles said and report back your findings.

thanks for the reply

I just installed this game monday, bought it on Steam. The thing is, my Half Life 2 game has the exact same problem. There are no extra add-ons installed, so it's a "clean" installation.

Is it on a desktop or a laptop?

I think it may be your video card having artifacts... may need to upgrade

try to up the fan speed with a fan program if that does not work try to lower the clock speed on the card a little bit.

The thing is , my desktop still runs with an AGP-card. So I dont know if there is anything better than the 7600 GS (in AGP).
Think this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/PowerColor-RADEON-HD3850-512MB-Graphic/dp/B001GYNX6W/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1242627194&sr=8-10 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/PowerColor-RADEON-HD3850-512MB-Graphic/dp/B001GYNX6W/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1242627194&sr=8-10)
is the latest?

Thing is, I got World of Warcraft, that game used to have the same problems, but when I switched to OpenGL mode everything was fine.

Then try an older driver!

I don't remember what it's called (Could've been V-Sync), but there's some sort of graphics options whivh protects against visual artifacts, try enabling that if you haven't already.

disable the sync that prolly helps, can be also your video card overheating i believe or graphic card its getting old if you have another that you can try i suggest that try diffrent graphic settings lower them if possible the less the less cooler your card will run and you can have an idea of what its causing this
