Yes 10 more days for the Orange Box, it is released Midnight after October ninth. Anyway time to decide, WHAT SHOULD I PLAY FIRST? Portal, or EP2? Tf2 isn't a option because I already have zee beta, oh and a reminder, YOU ONLY HAVE A COUPLE OF HOURS BEFORE THEY STOP TF2 BETA RELASE. THEN YOU POOR BASTARDS HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER TWO WEEKS. Anyway, here are zee upsides,

I know that I will play EP2 first, because I got some Portal action in a games convention last week (without sound :/ ... )

I finished 15 of the 19 levels in 58 minutes. The last ones are supposed to be pretty heavy, but I guess I'll be able to beat the game in one go.

Yeah, content for Portal should be very common, people will just keep making hard and harder maps, there should be surf maps with the portal gun :)

I want to play ep2 first, but I was hoping that black mesa source would be released before the orange box came out, because (gasp!) I never played half life 1, and personally I cant bring myself to play the original cause it is SO ugly.

I might just hold off for a bit and HOPE that black mesa comes out

I preordered it a while back on Steam.. From playing Team Fortress 2 beta, I have found that IT IS AN AWESOME GAME. Half Life 2, all the way. Love ya Valve.

Well, I think that as most of us have pre-ordered it already, and Portal is shorter, and that it comes out on midnight, Portal should be played first. I'll beat it that night, go to school, and play EP2 after. W00t get out of school at 12:54 free block ftw!

I have never been a huge fan of halflife, I have it but never finished it...I guess I'll beat it now and then the other episode.

I am very excited because I am getting my new computer around the same date as Orange Box is released, I don't think I will play much of Portal because I have a suck at fast paced games..Ahem..[counterstrike]

? Puzzle games aren't usually 'fast-paced'. I don't think Portal will require twitch reaction like CS, more thinking reaction. It should be fine for all types of players since if you fail, you just start again. More problem solving than twitch skill (I've never played it, that's just based on videos)..

You can really spend as much time on each stage of Portal, as you want. There is no timer, not even enemys. :P There are some parts though, where you have to avoid dying from the environment, but that's mostly just timing your jumps right.

Portal always struck me as a planning-out puzzle game. So you have to plan out your route before you start darting around the room.

My portal pre-loaded all by itself two days ago, I didn't even tell it to. Steam read my mind. :D
When they're released: Couple of levels of portal to check it out, then if it isn't too addictive I'll play EP2 for a while.

You can buy the orange box games individually if you're getting them via Steam, but it doesn't make sense unless you only want one of the games.
