Stationary shadows in Counter Strike Source are flickering, and when i get flashed it flickers too:(

this only started happening when i updated to the latest nvidia drivers so i know its something to do with them and my SLI cards. When i disable SLI it stops but i get a big drop in fps so i want to sort it.

any ideas?

i have searched for awnsers but couldn't find any, so i thought i would try here.

Running Vista? If so then NVIDIA is having a hard time to make proper SLI Vista drivers. SLI is in a newb stage anyways. It's gotta be the drivers and most likely is'nt your fault.

Use previous drivers then if the new ones aren't up to much.

What you'll find is that newer drivers doesn't always mean better.

Team Fortress 2 is working perfectly with the latest drivers. I have re installed Steam/Counter Strike Source multiple times but counter strike is still crashing and the shadows in it are flickering.

I have looked everywhere for an awnser but can't find one no where.

so my problem is this:

CSS is crashing as soon as i join a game, first i get a windows message saying "Hl2.exe encountered a ptoblem and needs to close", then i get an error message saying "Counter STrike source: hl2.exe tried to referance memory at "000x0x00x" memory could not be read" (not exactly like that).
But if TF2 runs on the same engine etc surely that should do that same, but it runs perfect:S

please can someone help?

Just because it uses the same engine doesn't ensure compatibility. CSS is quite old in comparison, TF2 will be better designed for things such as SLi setup and dual core.

Are the previous drivers really that bad? If they'll work with TF2 you don't have to update them.

I thought the newest Nvidia drivers were beta drivers... aren't they? If so, go ahead and use previous drivers, like Tek said.

i rolled back my drivers and its still happening, started happening in TF2 now aswell. I think i'm gonna take my pc to the shop and get my hard drive re formatted and im getting 2 gig of gaming ram too:)

i got 2 gig atm but its in 2 512's and a 1 gig and its shitty non brand stuff, so the new ram should help a bit:)

thanks anyway...

Why are you taking it to the shop to reformat? Easy enough to do it yourself, as well as changing your ram.

Let us know how it goes though!
