Now I know all your opinions on CS:S zombie mods, I'm currently working hard on getting Left For Dead for Counter Strike Source. So far it's going real well for a week of work.
Already Done:
Zombie Models
So far there is 4 zombie models, not those crappy zombie models from Zombie Mod but some good custom zombie models.
Player Models
I got a Leon model from Re4, he's in the Re4 outfit not the Re2 one.
Custom Maps
I'm working hard on a custom map where its a long set up streets, when you get further down the zombie spawns get disabled behind you but new ones are created ahead, so that the more you move through the level the zombies keep attacking. I'm trying to make it look as Left 4 Dead as possible. So far Italy has been the best map for this, maybe I should just Vmex it and make it into a Left 4 Dead level.

Objectives so far:
I've actually made something interesting for now, De maps have been made so you are the terrorists and your job is to sterilize the infection through a bomb, it seemed realistic to me other then the fact you are the terrorists. Cs maps have been made so that you have to save the survivors (hostages), the weird thing is sometimes the zombie camp the hostages, which is really weird so maybe in custom maps the hostages can be barricaded so the zombies can camp them making it a bit more realistic, plus the custom maps will be like Left 4 Dead and just make it through a few checkpoints to eventually a Helicopter.
Help Wanted:
Mapper - Must now basic knowledge of hammer, we aren't looking for amazing maps but atleast acceptable.
Coder - This mod it made with Mattie Eventscripts, very easy to understand.
Modeler - For player models, we are looking to get the Left 4 Dead ones.
I might end up making this into an actual CS:S mod, where we actually mod the CS:S files, a little more complicated, plus you'll only be able to play the mod and not normal CS:S, but I'm sure there's a workaround.

So far I'm hosting a Dedicated Server, max people is 5, maybe we can get some more like 2 or 3 the more this mod developes.

There's already code for the boomer. The server: ZombieEvolution uses it.
As it currently is, the boomer looks the same except he has the bomb model on his back, he is slightly darker skin-wise and he shows up on the radar (if you see him) with the bomber icon from CS:S.
He has the same health as normals, and his explosion on death can easily kill you.

I've already done the boomer and smoker, easy stuff, except the smokers tongue is a bit glitchy and i need to work on it more, i got the hunter sort of, since i cant make my own animations i instead made it so the hunter pounces and sticks to you for like 3 seconds, when that happens the person can't shoot and the hunter slashes the shit outta you, teammates can shoot him off then.

dude that sounds cool but it would be SWEET if u made a full blown mod outa this...i can see lots of ppl playing it...although there will be lots of ppl u just get mad at u and say taht u need to just be patient...otherwise. gj, keep up the good work! :-)

After playing this, I say that this is my go-to zombie server (especially now that zombie hell is down) expect to see me in there often.

I just tried this out.. me and my roomate.. and I must say, this is fucking cool...
There are some things that need to be changed, but I had a blast playing this.
There definitely needs to be some different maps. Even if they aren't objective based, the normal CS ones aren't that great for it. WTB lots and lots of urban maps =D
Also, we tried to change the map, but we needed more people to change it, though there was only 2 of us... Dunno if thats like that on purpose or not.
And! FF needs to be tried out on this... it'd make it way tougher hehe.

friendly fire must be on at all times. Otherwise, it's not really l4d-like.
I would like to help you with Raw coding of the bosses, but it'll be a Dog to make some of them. If you know what I mean ;P

This looks great, far better than existing Zombie mods that I play, which for me are more of a Zombie - parody, this looks more "serious".

The mod is fun but the zombies move too fast imo. 2 knife hits and your down also. Other than that, it's a ton of fun. Need objectives too imo.

He's trying to make it like L4D I believe, so the zombies would be fast. Also, it takes more than 2 knife hits to kill you, but I think it only takes 1-2 if they are behind you.
Would Zombie Master maps be hard to convert for CS? I have no idea how that sorta thing works =\

Well I've been working on it, the zombie's move alot slower, they used to be 170% but now they are 140% i believe, I upped your health a bit to so instead it takes two hits from behind to kill, I can't up it up to much more it would be cheap, it may seam easy when your spraying everything but as soon as someone goes off by themselves it begins, they die, the team is weaker so everyone splits up, that's how they die, alot like Left 4 Dead. I'm working on a good map right now, I also have a director copy in place on my map, not amazing but it works decent enough.

That's what I was going for, I was absolutely disgusted with the spraying on the head zombie mods, I think it's horrible.
I'm working on Left 4 Dead objectives in my map, just get to a helicopter or any other means of extraction, the maps will be linear so it feels like Left 4 Dead, I'm thinking about making Italy into a linear map, it would work well, so far Italy is the most popular because of it's skinny but long level design.

This zombie mod of yours really is the best right now, so maybe I could help you on yours since no one can give me competent graphics for mine.
I'm starting with mattie event scripts, and it seems easy enough. I just need to study the commands some more.

the Fast running/dying zombie where needed, and italy look great in the dark.
I'll be playing there often :)
I thing I would say is that its seems easy, we were to in the server and we were able to win... and even alone I sometime get the hostage back.
or may be the zombie number depend on the player number?

I think the zombies are fine for now, there's probably about a 1% chance of humans winning because no one really works together, it really depends on the player number, if we ever get some donations for a bigger server then there will be more zombies and more room but Squerl and Frog hate this zombie mod and stuff, so it's not likely. They think it's the same as my old one.

For the last time it is on, no matter you can do after respawn they will walk, no matter what, cs:s aint ment for respawning, it's been on since the beginning and I'm giving up trying to solve it, it's fine.

Not possible, 20 player max server, unless we get donations for a bigger one, squerl and frog hate this mod so no.

It was on be everyone keeps getting kicked and such, I turn auto kick off it's fine but ends up STILL kicking after 10 tk's, plus it spams chat because the zombies keep knifing each other so you never see what anyone else says.

Never said I hated it, it just wasn't a very friendly environment last time I went in any of your servers. It's cool what you're doing, hope it goes well.

The unfriendliness was the work of the chat room folks, they really like to push people's buttons, I don't know why, anyways everyone is wondering if we could set up a donation for a CS:S server, I can't afford to upgrade to a 32 player as it's like 50 bucks, mine only hold about 6 people right now.

Server is officially down, my account got hacked and someone order about 20 32 player servers on my credit card and I have to pay fucking $1,800.24, American. That's just great.

Oh nice. I make models, and I've got a female model I've made for l4d (I know, its sad I've already started but, STFU) you could use for your mod. I cant rig models (good) so if you want her, feel free to PM me with your msn addy, and I'll send her. This is what she looks like =

Thats what she looks like for L4D, but if you want her, I'm gonna remodel her a bit (change the clothing around a bit, and same as the hair and face) because I dont want her to look the same for l4d, and your mod. That'll look cheap :) Also, does your mod have ledge grab, and some third person features? If you need some animating done, I can do a bit for you. I could make a realistic ledge grab animation, just not a realistic get-up ledge animation :( Also, I dont know how to get anything into CSS or anything, so someone will need to do that for me, if you need my help of course.

Anyway, can't you just run a dedicated server on your own computer?
If you want the server to be up, you could just run it on your own computer for free...
why pay to have someone else host the server? (other than lag and acutally being able to play on the same computer :D)
To Liberty Ashford, your third person and more realistic animation ideas are always kool.

Everytime I wanted to play a game myself it would lag server bad, plus if you have your computer on for over a week you can have some serious problems, only macs can be on forever.

I could get the model in but it would need to be rigged to cs:s skeleton or VAC would ban me for inconsistency issues.

Well just use your Source SDK and you get an auto update on startup.
