Okayies, PCG UK got a exclusive preview in their last mag. So here are a few details for your consumption.

5 new campaigns - same length as L4D 1, day time, American South

4 new characters - reskinned, new things being said (Including "Get to the Choppa" I do believe) ex teenage Football star, Con man, News reporter lady, teenage red neck.

Different styles of ammunition - Explosive rounds, more stuff like that.

Different styles of weapons - Silenced Uzi (pretty much just accurised), powerful revolver is in the works, Bolt action rifle (Unconfirmed),

Dismemberment - Zombies can keep coming even if they're missing an arm or a leg.

MASSIVE maps - Apparently different routes will be available through out the map, on a replay some will be cut off and other open again, it should be a little longer before these maps become speed runnable.

Melee weapons - Frying Pans, Axes (dibs), Chainsaws, more that I've missed.

Cresendo events now force players to run. One example is an fire alarm going off in Building, the fire alarm must be turned off if the players are to continue.

There is probably more stuff that I have missed. Sorry for my terrible spelling/grammer.

I hope that shows just how much content is being shipped in L4D2

Try reading it next time. We didn't know about the revolver, the possibility of a bolt-action rifle or have confirmation that the maps would have different routes.

Could you please scan the relevant magazine pages, Eagle?

Explosive rounds, too? The survivors are just getting more and more OP.

The infected better have a good trump card.

Edit: Well, there ARE more infected, moving crescendos, and the like. I also read in that other thread that car alarms don't turn off until you GTFO. Seems to balance things out a bit, but I need to hear more.

I'm guessing the other two special infected will balance it out.

I agree. Those Incendiary bullets are a bit over the top. I mean; who would have them laying around in the open?

I seem to remember the forums ringing for one... Not me, however; If zombies are going to run AT me, I'd rather they NOT be on fire, thanks.

You missed out the new game mode, and the whole new story element.

New gamemode! That on its own I would buy, no matter what it is.

uh could the new game mode be the story part of it... You know like complete one scenario and then be in helicopter then it crashes or something like that and then u continue with the next campaign till u beat it and so on and so forth. =/

The American PC Gamer had mostly just more of the same, although it includes one important detail

*The voice of the TF2 scout tried out for one of the characters, Ellis if I'm not mistaken, but was turned down because they wanted everyone to have a southern accent.

Yeah, sorry i havent got a scanner, so you'll just have to believe me :D

One of the new infected is supposed to stop people from camping in corners, I do believe its called the charger, or rusher.

Is anyone in the UK got this magazine to back me up on this?

I doubt the 2 new infected will really balance, seriously, you guys saw how tank was dying so fast in the videos? :| I know they were in Normal, but this is what can happen in Versus! BUUUUT the game is far from being released, I hope they balance it in time.

The tank is very weak when put up to sustained fire, he always was, other infected are needed to tie up other survivors while the tank gets close.

However, these new additions do begin to worry me. What will the infected get? I suppose time will tell

Highly doubt ALL 5 campaigns are daylight.

Yea... I bet the swamp one is during the night. Golly (Tee-Hee), that'd be worse than Blood Harvest.

It's already been said only a few maps are in daylight, much less the majority of them.

I don't see the problem with daylight though, the latter bits of blood harvest took place during sunrise, I like the day time maps :)

More variety is a good thing.

what if they have a special infected that's like............fireproof........that would SURELY even out the fire ammo.

I wouldn't say that.. the special infected are chosen at random, so it's kind of off. Plus it would really only help that certain infected since others know not to waste ammo on him.

Maybe a poison based SI sort of like the old smoker? Lol idk.
Valve will even it out :p

I know, daylight's not bad or anything but I don't think it'd be right to make all campaigns in the day. It DOES get dark in the South...

Still, I really have no idea what they got up their sleeves so only time will tell.

Well they aren't all in the day, Valve has said so + we've only seen one campaign :p
