I was excited for NMRIH because they were the traditional slow moving, but strong zombies that I still have a soft spot for in my heart. But yea it really hasn't gone anywhere as of recent so I basically gave up on every Zombie mod for HL2. They never work.

By looking at their "about" page, I think a huge problem in development is just the amount of different features they wanted incorporated. I notice that a few days ago they released a bunch of media. Media is fine and all, but I think as a mod you need to start small, get something playable, then continually upgrade. I hope they do get things under control and developed, the more zombie games the better!

Sorry to bump this, but browsing back in my history, I noticed this thread.

After of Year 5 in development, we've see Zombie Panic and Zombie Master released.

The Mod (NMRiH) was leaked to the internet, unplayable but leaked.
And they lost another coder.

It's a real shame, since I honestly believed it would be out last year...or the year before that...

Give them at least some credit to be the first HL2 Zombie Modification.

And the last one released, assuming you know it does.

I'm pretty sure he's admitted to being an ass for that very reason. He's not too bad in any game.

Unless he decides it's an appropriate time to play tag in CS:S, with knives. Oh God. Surprisingly fun... At first. Dontleave is a god-send for this community. The only people who really have trouble with him are people who take things too seriously (sadly with Internet being the medium, and that 98% of the shit he says is a joke.) He always knows how to stir up shit when there's a lull in forum activity.

And actually... If you read his post, it makes a lot more sense than people give him credit for. He stated that if NMRiH was completely, utterly and definitely done. As in (like) 100%-Could-Be-Sold-Or-Turned-In-To-Retail-Like-CS- Or-Red-Orchestra DONE.... Then it would have a higher... and I think he meant player-base, than L4D. He never said it would be better.

Which makes sense, it's free. And by all intents and purposes, the concept of the mod is what everyone here has one way or another, one time or another, expressed a want for. (Barricading, melee, weapons... etc.). At the very least, the epicly VAST majority of people here can not honestly say they wouldn't want that.

It's essentially, conceptually, the culmination of ALL the classic Zombie-themed... EVERYTHING, that we all grew up on. The only feature lacking in NMRiH, conceptually, that is, that L4D has is running zombies. So really; I hate to break it to you guys... But that little, long-ago stunt that dontleave pulled has a lot more merit. You guys simply chose to look at it with no insight.

All that said, NMRiH won't get any where. And it'll suck, big time. Unless that long-shot of a scenario I described above ever happens. In which case I'll be preparing for the Pony Apocalypse.
