Can I Handle Left 4 Dead?

Hi people im new to the fourms but ive seen every piece of l4d footage and im concerned that my system wont be able to play it my system is as followed:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80GHz
XFX NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT XXX ED (OverClocked)
3072MB Of Ram (3gb)
Windows Vista 32bit

I would like to see what you think beacuse i will go out and buy new parts if i need to.
I would also like to hear about what settings i could run it at.
I play Team Fortress 2 And HL:EP 2 with everything maxed out including AA and Filtering witch are both at X16 and i get around 80-90 Fps Min 60 Max 100-110

I've got two gigs of the shittiest ram imaginable and I expect L4D to run fluidly. The only time I can see you running into problems is if the server is lagging up a shitstorm or you get a virus/loads of spyware.

If you couldn't run Left 4 Dead with that computer, then they shouldn't bother trying to sell it... You must be joking. It won't be that different from the Orange Box in terms of hardware, or at least so I imagine.

New parts for L4D? Sometimes I wonder why people spend huge amounts of money for upgrading, just to get that last bit of performance boost, when most games (especially Valve games) are a blast on normal settings too.

Sorry, if this sounds harsh, but this thread is kind of 'hand -> face' to me as a "casual gamer". ;)

Yeah thanks, that generally happens when you're comparing a game thats already out, to one that comes out next year(?) or perhaps, for kicks... TRS might want it to look worse. As of now they have the same technologies, but it's been said that there's less detail in Infected models to optimize frames (a very long long time ago) Their dynamic flashlight casting looks better though.

As I said in the hardware thread, your computer spec will ace L4D, depending on your monitor resolution you'll be able to play it at high settings.
