First of all, Macs, ew.

Second, what's your graphics card?

Third, is the processor dual core, quad, single?

yea it will, probably depending on graphics card.

I've played l4d on one of the new macpro's at work before running bootcamp with windows 7.

If you use multicore rendering, try turning that option off and see if it will work.

And.. as Nuttz said... what gpu are you using? Specs would help.

this is my specs here... http://www.apple.com/macbook/specs.html...
it is a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2gb ram, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory... i dont think it has its own graphics card but it is an onboard graphics card... thank again everyone... :D

Even if it would run, it wouldnt run on a Mac.

he said he's running windows via bootcamp. which, since you dont know, allows you to dual-boot OS X, windows, and even linux if you want.

so, its not running on the Mac OS X. But running in windows.

read up on it HERE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boot_Camp_(software))

back to the real problem
that graphics card isn't the greatest in the world. i'm guessing you have everything on low while trying to play?

yes everything is low already during game play and yet still really low fps... i dont think i am running any other programs at the time...

probably just a problem of the graphics card not being up to par then.

Depends on whether you're running dual, quad, or single core. At least a 3.0 SINGLE core processor is required to run L4D, so that may be the problem, or it could be the video card.

WAIT. I had the SAME problem not to long ago, if you're running with on board graphics, then that's your problem right there.

well the processor is a dual core... and the graphics card... i cant do anything about that one but it is an onboard... is there anything i can do to make it run better?... i saw a youtube clip of a guy playing on same specs but he had like 30-40 fps... i asked but no reply yet...

Well, looking at teh specs, the video card, as was said before, might not be right for it. Could also be what Is aid before, try to shut off the multicore rendering option. OR.... get a PC :p

You won't be able to run L4D at all with any mac below an iMac. Sorry bud, the graphics cards are just terrible for gaming.

Is Bootcamp an emulator or just a kind of partitioning for Windows OS and applications?

Its an actual Partition. You hold down the Alt key (i think) on boot up to choose which partition and OS to load into.

Can't Windows do that?

Why is it called something special like Bootcamp then?

Because its what apple decided to call it.

And Windows doesn't have a fancy name, does it?
