Well I restarted the game and it seems that all my complaints have gone away. No lag, and no graphic tearing. So be sure to restart the game after making adjustments. The gameplay still is'nt that fun though.

Wow, the graphics are so pretty. I have E6420 @ 3.4ghz, 2gb ram, 8800GTX with 169 beta drivers. 1920x1080, everything high, no AA and everything ran smooth as butter.

Graphics are amazing, I actually didn't get to hear what they were saying at first because I was so amazed at their skin texture. The blurring right outside your focus is real cool, grenades and explosions are sweet. Shooting guns feels way better to me than it did in FarCry. Suit is actually pretty cool, towards the end of the demo I got the hang of it sprinting/strength punching and jumping etc. The gun attachments that I didn't like from videos is actually cool, adding flashlights or scopes and things. The screen effects like I said before like when grenades explode near you are cool.

Some parts are weird walking, when you try to go off the beaten path it just messes up sometimes and doesn't feel right. Vehicles are cool, even better when they're blown up.

Watching the cutscenes took the game down a notch for me. When I say watching, you watch. I guess I'm spoiled with HL2 and some others where you actually control your view during cutscenes, which I love, but in this game nope. You're stuck watching what they want you to see, which I can understand because they have control and can make it look cinematic, but I'd MUCH rather be able to control. It just takes you out of the game and makes you 'watch' the cool shit going on. Not cool.

Story and dialogue, meh. Very predictable, hope the rest of the game isn't like that. Scary part wasn't scary. OMG there's alien things, ahh. EP2 did a much better job with introducing the Hunter.

Graphics, great, not mind-blowing (not running DX10 of course, but that doesn't change too much). Everything else, decent.

I'm undecided if I'll buy it or not, depends how long the SP lasts for reviewers.

DIssapointed to hear mediocore reviews, after all - this was the game I built my current PC for ( about 7 months ago when it was originally due for release !)

Just had an hour on it now, runs really well on `very high` everything!
Dont know why some people with Quad Core and SLI 8800GTX are having performance issues.
I`m on 1600x1050 NO AA , very high everything and getting no slowdown - even with multiple enemies. I have a E6600 ( 2.4Ghz ) , 4Gb GEIL 4-4-4-12 RAM, BFG 8800GTX , and Vista. Not even updated drivers to new betas.

One thing I cant seem to find is the option for DX9 or DX10 - I guess it should be running on DX10, but cant seem to tell for sure. Does anyone know where the option to select DX version is?

Graphics,violence,strong language,korean language,nano suit, cloak, best explodes ive ever seen, DX10, Graphics again, mind blowing Graphics and physics, destroyable Trees, Sweet blood, Veichles, Almost every Object you see is able to be picked up,Nature, Animals,Alien kind of thingys, sweet views, Cinematics, 4 different Difficultys (cant spell) which makes it much much more realistic and harder, particles sticking onto the Screen Etc Blood / Dirt / water, Great Ai, Smart Ai. You basicly described the graphics and physics. They are badass, hands down...but a great game needs more than just a nice look. Sucky gameplay ruins even the best looking game in the world.

A thing I loved was when I was driving I was being shot at and the bullet cracks and blood smearing on my window and I couldn't see, now that was awesome.

No problems here. Although I will say the mouse control feels a bit laggy at times, I think Squerl mentioned this earlier. There feels like some sort of `dampening` on the mouse control that makes it seem sluggish - not the same response as , say, UT3 .

Regarding the DX10 mode, I dont think it runs in DX10 by default.
I`d played it through once, then looked in my `Games` folder in Vista, saw the Crysis icon and right clicked it. There you get the option to play DX9 or DX10.
This time I selected DX10 and the graphics appeared sharper, and more foliage. Maybe I`m mistaken, but it sure seemed better than when I just double clicked `Crysis` to play.

K, I'll give some rambling, just woke up criticisms.

Beyond what appears like its going to be a poor predictable story, I think one of my main complaints is actually the AI. It's not that they don't behave well but theres something I can't put my finger on. It didn't feel like I was really fighting people. Halflife and Bioshock felt real. Left 4 Dead felt real. This was weird.

Also, some people mentioned poor gameplay. Maybe other peoples experiences were different but when I played I basically had my finger on the stealth button. Pop out of sight in prone, blast a guy or two and pop back in. Health regens, pop back out. If I used strength I was able to one hit someone with fists or grab them. Strength was almost entertaining when I was jumping on a building and jumping back down to smash someone and jump away again. Almost.

Felt like a god when I was playing in a jeep.

Graphics were attractive but it was similar to an FPS Oblivion with better background textures. Face animations were very poor.

Cutscenes took me out of control of the game for far too long, and didn't have any wow factor to make up for it. Halflife keeps you in game, Fear makes you shit yourself. These were unimpressive.

Highlights of the game for me:

Underwater was gorgeous, best I've seen in any game. Suit was pretty sweet looking. Turtle looked awesome.

Almost didn't finish the demo.

The cutscenes are just facking terrible... I hate being taken through everything like that, Valve just simply spoils us. It's also damn annoying when you had to follow Jester or whatever his name was... WHY THE FUCK DOESN'T HE GO TO MAXIMUM SPEED THAT SLOW ASS FACK.

As for difficulties, I don't get why they take away functionalities of the suit, instead of just making the AI more advanced. I mean, the whole enemies speaking Korean thing actually suprised me, I thought holy shit wow, but the grenade prediction shouldn't have been removed, it was built into the suit. They might as well have removed the HUD which is also built in.

Gameplay wise it's not amazing. The coolest thing you can do is dash and choke enemies, other than that nothing. I would give it more credit if the game played remotely close to what it was like in the teaser before the game starts, with all those extra animations it made it feel like a movie... but perhaps thats for DX10 or 'Very High' or perhaps never.

*On a side note: the coolest thing I've done is picked up a huge weapons cache, went maximum strength, jumped and threw it at two enemies coming up the stairs.

My one complaint is for the AI, they seem thave made up for the crappy AI with extra health... Koreans shouldn't be able to take 5 hits to the chest and not die, besides that, the damn twitch they do is freakin' annoying... It's essentially the most realistic environment you can get besides the actual enemies. Also, it may be just me but the gameplay isn't fluid, for some reason shooting is interrupted very frequently.

Not to mention like squerl said... it gets buggy when you're off the paths, walking along the sides of hills and what not, it gets a little bugged up, you don't only notice with your screen, but if you look at your legs they're flying all over the wazoo.

Game isn't perfect either, for some reason picking up a turtle means you're holding one head above your head, and two hands infront of your chest on the turtle.

I just found out why I may buy this game. It's not for the game itself but rather the sandbox editor. Well maybe I can get the other objects downloaded into the editor anyways. What I did was spawn tons of chickens and made PETA cry! XD Then I got the bright idea of putting a car there and running them over. Then I found tornadoe's and I put a bunch of cars in and it looked like the movie "Twister". Then I got in the car and took a ride like Dorothy. Then I paned back and spawned a whole bunch of tornadoe's. Granted my comp can handle it so it looked awesome and was so fun. If you ever loved creating an apocalypse in Sim City, then this is for you. Everything is living. In fact I found out that smoke blows away with the concusion of a grenade. I havn't found the weapon to make a nuke yet though lol.

Crysis, although a great game, won't be on par with L4D. Crysis offers fantastic gameplay (In my opinion) and stunning visuals, but also an experience shorter than that of L4D, whereas L4D has all of the former and none of the latter, exchanging it for a hypothetically "infinite" gameplay experience, what with custom/additional maps and the amorphous nature of the game itself.
You'll almost certainly enjoy Crysis, sated and content.
But you'll come back for L4D, and you'll undoubtedly spend more time with it.

while dontleave puts it a little strongly, he has a point. The only person who was trying to maintain the superiority of their game over someone else's game, was you good sir. It seems to me that you came in here with an expectancy to start some shit, as you took a classic internet tack and picked everything negative somenone said about Crysis, then proceeded to throw it in their face claiming that it made them a fan-boy. The fact is that they were simply giving their opinion on what they thought of a game, and since their opinion did not match up to yours, you felt obligated to defend yourself and the game you love.
Now, I have not played Crysis and I doubt I ever will, so I can give no opinion on that. What I can give an opinion on is your behavior, which I must say has been near troll-like with little to no provocation.

I think one of my main complaints is actually the AI. It's not that they don't behave well but theres something I can't put my finger on. It didn't feel like I was really fighting people. Halflife and Bioshock felt real. Left 4 Dead felt real. This was weird.

I totally agree with that. Shooting people just wasn't satisfying enough. They felt like robots or something. It was just wrong.

Halfeaten, a lot of people here liked Crysis. Just because a few here didn't like it doesn't mean that you need to take it personally and begin attacking others! You decided to then attack the game that this site is made on, which to me suggests that you're doing nothing but trying to get a rise out of us. As I said, you have not played the game so this argument is nothing but a worthless flame fest and should stop now (this includes all of us, no matter how much I want to defend the AI and replayability of L4D that have come into question :P)

This is actually where I found the AI to be at its weakest. Cloaking triggered the AI to spray in the last known location for a set period of time (short) and then begin to wander almost aimlessly (although I suppose they were "sweeping the area" in their own way). It just felt like I was exploiting the game because I could pop in and out, killing one or two at a time, and no one could do anything about it.

If it hadn't had been built up to be the bestest game in the world ever... then I'd probably have thought it was good. As it is, I'm pretty dissapointed.

So far I found the nuke in the editor. I also found out you can spawn unlimited amounts of enemies and allies and have a super battle. Then put in a huge tornado. Also you can put in aliens and they will try to freeze you. There is a freezing weapon. The editor is the only fun thing and it's free lol. *Oh yeah you can stack stuff too. So you can have a huge stack of junk explode or whatever. It might crash the program but it sure is fun/cool!

Ok this is just to get some things out there Mr. Crysis fanboy. :-p In the right corner of your screen you should see a tab named "Archetype Entry". I'm in the multiplayer map so the folders should be different. Open that and then follow this: Vehicles>Land>NK_TAC_Tank. Be sure to fire that mortar round at a very long distance. It's a surprise lol. You get the idea but that's how you spawn things. Oh and you can spawn multiple things by holding ctrl+c and just keep tapping c while holding ctrl. *Forgot one crucial thing. To play in the editor hit ctrl+g. To snap out just hit esc. You can also control the ai/physics with a tab at the bottom. Just fiddle around with it!

I cant spawn People ! only veichles and stuff but not Bots / Ai. when i click on a etc asain and place him it doesnt happen anything ingame,theres nothing there =( please help Hool or somebody else

You can only spawn enemies/stuff that you can see. You can spawn people with light machine guns. The glitching happened when I first played the demo but went away when I restarted the game after changing the settings. I'm sure spawning tons of civilian trucks and watching a twister fling them around the island will make your day.
