Found deep in their agreement term here: http://www.adobe.com/misc/pdfs/TM_GuideforThirdPartiesFinalPrint.pdf
So now you know what to properly say when you see a photoshopped, ahem, an image enhanced using Adobe® Photoshop® software.

Why are the giving us grammar school?
How are they going to regulate that in official texts?

I kinda get their point, but jeez

I thought it was supposed to be a good thing for a brand when their name becomes a verb... for example: google it....?

Or just their brand becomes a generic noun (I need a kleenex)

I was referring to my failure, which I edited out, so I can see how that was confusing.

EDIT: Now no one in this thread has failed

except adobe

Are they dumb? A product's greatest hope is to become a verb! You don't photocopy anymore, you Xerox. You don't take a snapshot you take a Poleroid! No-one searches the web any more, they Google! Adobe is actually trying to stop the use of "Photoshop" as a verb?

Who the fuck is in charge and why isn't my foot hitting them in the face right now!?

Dumbdumbdumbdumbdumbdumbdumb!

Polaroid...? Who says that?

I guess I heard that 60-year old man talking to himself at the bus stop mentioning that...

Tyr
08-16-2009, 09:14 PM
Well the problem there is that no-one DOES take snapshots/Polaroids any more, it's all digital. My point is that your brand turning into a verb is the ultimate in product recognition. It's basically a massive "YOU'VE SUCCEEDED" sign with flashing lights and sirens. Seems like the good folks at Adobe have their heads firmly lodged in their soundproof arses.

Edit: @Dre - Exactly, good example.

also, i noticed people dont say clear tape or mess tape, they say SCOTCH tape, even though scotch tape is not a type of tape, its a brand that makes all types of tape.
