Whats the point of comic book based on a game? Wouldn't anybody rather play the game instead?

It's a backstory you wouldn't learn from playing the game.

Look at what happened to Starcraft:Ghost
Looked good, but didn't happen.

Yeah, I think they did a few comics for it. Plus a whole animated movie.

Red Faction: Guerrilla has a comic thing included in the pre-order art book, it's kind of cool. For fans of "fluff" who really thrive on backstory comics are great. I find 'em interesting but wouldn't go out of my way to buy one.
