Maybe i'm the only one but,

I'm so sick of playing a versus game from beginning to end on one of the 4 campaigns and as soon as you stop a hunter in his tracks, or when the infected, Kill the entire team or a single player off....the team or players start quitting left and right! I mean WTF Valve, Please please please please please tell me theres talks of pentalizing the players who CONSTANTLY Force a game to go back to the lobby because they cant take it that they were killed. I mean WTF!? you have 5 levels each campaign to try and take it back for the win. I never quit and im just tired of hosting a game just to see it "Server shutting down" by the 3rd stage. If we cant knock the quitters via disabling them from versus for 24hrs each time they quit, then why not build a personal ladder system? each player has their own, Win - Loss - Quit/DC to their name. That way People can boot people before allowing losers to join the game who will only leave them hanging because they cant accept they were getting beat or might have to actually work to get that good pounce or kill.

Anyone else tired of the lame quitters!? it really takes away from the games experience...

Sometimes shit happens and people can't stay for a whole 1.5 hrs or more. The 30-minute Crash Course versus should put an end to a lot of this.

People are always going to quit games, just gotta deal with it I guess.
And there was a similar discussion to this in the Ranking system thread (http://www.left4dead411.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13236), and I dont really like the idea of a 'personal ladder system' for the reasons stated in that thread.

Well, if you dont have the time to play a whole campaign, then dont play at all. Why should the rest of us suffer cause some cunt wants to play 20 minutes before its time for his parents to tuck him in for the night.

To OP: This thread is about the 10 billionth one on this subject. Use the search button. Lemon already posted the link to the most recent one. I do agree with you about most of what you say, something needs to be done. I think matchmaking would help a lot.

Alright. Allow me to clarify for hopefully the last time.

There will NEVER be an end to ragequits. As with the reasons listed by BlackCat and CrankeD, there will also be those CSS twitch fuckers that can't stand to lose once. Even in COMPLETELY FAIR PLAY with evenly skilled players, the second one team gets ahead, the other team is going to rage. It's almost a fact of life. That's why me and Eclaris created the versus leagues, hopefully to get some non-raging games together. We're working out the kinks, bare with us.

Oh, and OP: If anything, there is NO ONE that doesn't want an end to ragequits.

this problem is exacerbated by the small team, high-cooperation requirements of the game but it's the price we pay for having such a unique experience on offer

the only cure for this, and for most other player related problems in L4D, is to only play with people from your friends list who you know are sound

Thats basically the end all soultion. It sucks because you dont always have a ton of friends on that are all playing L4D, but thats the way it is. Hopefully, some type of matchmaking will be introduced in L4D2.

Left 4 Dead was, hypothetically, a test for a new multiplayer system for Valve. Valve's usual multiplayer games' (Team Fortress, Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, etc) matches are very short rounds. Whereas in L4D a full campaign can last an hour and a half.

That's where the new DLC comes in, Crash Course.

I still think a ranking or record system is suffice. The douches who cant play for the 1.5 hrs should not play, or hell like you said, if its an emergency then you probably wont be back that day to play again if its a legit emergency... 1 day being banned is enough and if no one wants to get their feelings hurt as bad, then fine KEEP RECORDS so people who are joining or making games can see who the OBVIOUS QUITTERS are and can be dealt with.

Can you imagine the rage-quiting if there were some type of skill ranking system? The screaming?

But I DO like some type of team-work ranking system, but I know that people would somehow cheat.

So, let me get this straight. Every time you leave a game, you dont get to play on-line for 24 HOURS?!?!!? God, I wouldn't be able to play for three weeks just from last night.
