Looks absolutely fantastic (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/27906.html). Techland did a great job on Call of Juarez, and I'm hoping they'll outdo themselves with this one.

Yea I lost interest playing Call of Juarez, I dunno why, I liked it. But this looks SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. I hope theres like no multiplayer at all. I would really love if someone made a singleplayer only game with a GREAT story and something that I wouldnt wanna play in the dark alone, or better yet something that I wouldnt wanna play and my friends wouldnt wanna watch in the day! I hope they dont fuck this up. The zombie sub genre has been through so much crap.

Looks pretty good. Wethere it looks that way in-game is an other question; but it's certainly time for the FPS genre (especially zombies) to get a damage model as good as those of certain racing games.

That sounds like a pretty accurate description of the opposite to porn. :P

Oh, it's from the people who did Call of Juarez? I thought that turned out pretty bad, guess I gotta look into it more.

Call of Juarez was pretty bad, this has walking zombies on an island... so things probably won't turn out well, unless they use triggers and only like 2 weapons walking zombies just don't work, shamblers should be urban only.

This multi layer Damage system isn't believable at all, it looks like they just blend three different skins together and added breakable gibs, easily possible awhile back, these guys didn't do anything new.

Technically neither did Crysis.
This is what you call an "advancement" in technology. Something everyone should get praise for doing. Otherwise we'd be fine with stone wheels, and coal chugging locomotives.
My question is, does this happen in real time? Can I set a zombie on fire and get that last image from the first? If so, that'd be nuts... and maybe grab a wrench and start swiping chunks away from its face!!!

I highly doubt it, the game Dead Island does not look promising at all. Seems like a huge disappointment to me

Each to his own. I, on the other hand, am looking forward to this.

I would be looking forward to it more if it didn't coincide closely with, or after, L4D's release. If it comes out any more than 3 weeks before L4D, I'll probably buy it anyway; if not? I'll still rent just to see if its any good because I heard its mainly melee. It looks pretty sweet.

First, all it is, is they are blending another skin in real time with the skin, the gibbing looks pretty cool, but it's not new, not at all, and yes this is old, decals are a great example of texture blending, they're putting an illusion saying it's "layering" but it's really not, only texture blending, a cheap trick.

Exactly why I said that it seems like a huge disappointment to ME ^_^
But I'll still get it just cause its a zombie survival type of game
