I have been getting messages from a few steam friends about a virus. Here's the message.

LISTEN if someone by the name of (Dale Mitchell) wants to add you to their list don't accept it. It is a virus. Tell everyone on your list because if somebody on your list adds him or her you will get it too. It is a hard drive killer and a very horrible virus. Please pass this on to everyone on your list. We need to find out who is using this account.


I'm not sure if its real or not but for the sake of everybody's steam accounts do not add him.

It's not legitimate. It's a chain-letter type thing. You can't get a virus over Steam unless you follow a dodgy link. You certainly can not get a virus by adding someone onto your Steam friends list. Don't bother responding to this for any other reason but to call whoever sent it to you an idiot.

Chain letter.

You can't get a virus from adding someone onto your Steam Friends list.

It's physically impossible to send a virus through steam messages unless you're silly enough to click a dangerous link.

It's copy pasta trollage.
