The Jockey is kind of like a mix between the Smoker and the Hunter.
It jumps on survivors like a hunter and moves them like a Smoker only not exactly how a Smoker does.

Ummm, did this really need a thread on its own?
Nevermind, it is supposed to constrict the survivor in a way, but its main purpose is to move a single survivor to potential ambush areas. And in order to prevent that, the team must work together to stop that from happening.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it I'm just saying it's like mix.
The smoker is good for doing that too like dragging people towards the witch and into fires.

But the Jockey does it at the same speed and causes more damage than the smoker ;) plus he can move them in other directions unlike the smoker ^_^

Ugh, yes we understand that you are stating that it seems to be a mix of both SI.
We are just stating of what it can do, and the rates of moving speed.
As well as tactics, but what you probably did know is that the survivor can resist the Jockey to a degree by pressing the movement key opposite of the jockey's control. Or something like that.

yeah the jockey only has 70% control the other 30 goes to the survivor still bad odds though D:

Yea, but chet also said somewhere that if you were experienced enough with the jockey, you could learn to counter it, and some jocky players would sit and say "What, I though I had control?" or something, so maybe they're just using that as a rough estimate.
I'm actually really curious as to how that works.

I think they share variant ability. But what about the smoker? I hope 4th SI make it and may also Variant ability to the smoker.

well in essence, if u were goin 2 keep goin with u, they shud put in a 5th si, something a variant of the witch. like another trap.

Does anyone else think that the new infected are extremely overpowered compared to the old SI? I mean, the Jockey can move the Survivors around to where he wants them, while doing 3 damage per second. That's like more or equal to Smoker damage! And the Spitter's acid does so much damage! You stand in it for 1 second or so and lose 10hp. I mean, the Boomer will still be useful, but I think I would rather just have Spitters, Jockeys and Chargers instead of Hunters and Smokers.

Well you obviously interpreted my statement wrong. I wasn't saying that I don't like the original SI, I am just saying they need to lower the damage of the new SI for it to be fair.

This. I'm sick and tired of seeing survivor teams who learn every nook and cranny of a map so they counter the few good smoker spots instantly, or pop every boomer through a wall, etc. Granted there are other ways they are making it more difficult but the SI doing more damage is nothing but a good thing in my eyes. At least as far as Versus is concerned.

I don't think you can jump on top of survivors from rooftops as a jockey, like the hunter can
Chargers need to be in range of the survivors and on the same surface, and even in a straight line, so chargers will be shot down very easily by good survivors
Idk about spitter tho, saw some vids and looks like she/it has a far range with the goo/slime/acid stuff
so yeah, every infected has it's pro's and con's

I had a dream last night where me and some co-workers were in a real life L4D kind of situation, some strange house in a culdesac or however you spell that. Towards the end of the dream we went into the garage and there was this big wrinkled dude sitting next to what looked like a witch. Then when it saw us it started wailing like a screamer mixed with an upset child, a bunch of zombies started bursting through the windows and the witch was holding her head in agony at the screaming before finally getting up and screeching herself while rushing someone.
I think I have an overactive imagination or something. Anyway that is one thing I thought of in regards to the Screamer, what if it was some horrible tag team occurence? Like one out of every thousand witches has a Screamer right next to it that makes life a nightmare.
