What happened to The Crossing?

The two games on the Source engine that I am looking forward to are Left4Dead and The Crossing, but there hasn't been any news about The Crossing since a magazine article a while ago. Anyone know anything about it? Anyone else care?

The teaser makes it look better than I originally thought. What does it mean by crossplayer, because I'm getting that it just has single and multi, and it certainly isn't the first to do that...

Ok my respect for this just skyrocketed. It better not be buggy like Dark Messiah. Dark Messiah is like unplayable due to bugs :P

How do you fuse single-player and multiplayer? That sounds like an MMO.

If I remember correctly the magazine article said that the main characters would play through the story and then other people would connect and take control of NPCs, it has been a while since I read the article though. Maybe Arkane Studios doesn't like to release info about their games? I didn't really know about Dark Messiah until the demo was released.

I've heard of this, the day i discovered this i found L4D too, but there's nothing, no new info since first months of 2006.

The idea of the person playing the single player campaign an then coming across a skirmish between two factions that is actually a multiplayer team deathmatch is interesting. Seems like it would be hard to balance though. Either it would be too hard for the single player or he would be too overpowered an smoke everyone.

Yeah, as soon as I heard the word "Templar", I thought Assassins Creed, and then the wrist blade... but yeah the idea of playing the Singleplayer campaign with the enemies being real people is a good enough idea.

I've seen this game come up a few times, but now that I've seen gameplay, it looks pretty damn good.

It might be fun to play as a mook.
