I find the Source engine easy to manipulate and reliable.

Because of that I consider it to have some AWESOME graphics. Nice gritty and realistic enough looks. Nowadays you have to see a bunch of super phonged/shiny textures on people to consider it &quot;next gen&quot;.

Even though I don't have a problem with MOST next gen computer games (since I can play them quite well on my rig), I still consider source great.

People don't buy games solely on graphics, if they did, none of the Tomb Raider games or Wii games would sell. And in graphics, L4D is not at all lacking. Source engine can still do good things, TF2 is a prime example of that. L4D already looks better than all the Source games now, and many other games too, with the obvious exception (UE3 and Crysis)

soo misinformed... source engine was just updated at the release of orange box... the source engine is constantly being updated... L4D is going to look great. it might not be ooooh shiny graphics, but its dark, gritty realism that L4D is trying to portray and from watching it played first hand, i can say it pulls it off wonderfully.

YUP, I got Tomb Raider Anniversary and it was awesome... I think L4d will look great, and the sounds (since some of the ones now are just place holders) will be great too.
